Just realised how clever R and L are at not releasing the day of Eminem's headline performance as people just wanting to see Eminem can only book weekend tickets for to be guaranteed to see Eminem ! Stupid Download etc... quite a clever tactic.

The Waters/Vedder performance of Comfortably Numb was my favourite of the entire show. Absolutely mind blowing.

Also, I saw Thin Lizzy again last night, it's supposed to be their "farewell tour" but they ended it by saying "We'll be back again real soon" so yeah, I'd like to see them on the Leeds line up somewhere. I get a lot of stick for liking them because they aren't 'the real Thin Lizzy' but they put on an awesome show and it's the only chance I get to hear Thin Lizzy songs live so fuck it, I really enjoy watching them play. An NME slot would be great.

Dissapointing. Inhaler got my hopes up that their new album might be as good as or even better than Total Life Forever but that new track sounds like they are devolving back to their immature 'indie-disco' sound of their first album. But we are only 2 tracks in I guess.

Pixies, Cage The Elephant, Biffy Clyro, Arctic Monkeys, The Courteeners, QOTSA, Mumford and sons, Vampire weekend, The prodigy, The enemy, The Editors and Bloc party.

Pixies and Cage the elephant are just a pipe dream but I have heard all the rest mentioned just wondered if anyone had any proof for or against, im clueless you see.

Personal opinion of course, but I think total life forever was as "indie disco" as antidotes was, if anything (and in their own words) total life forever was more of a pop/club record than their first. I can't think of a single track off their first, which wouldn't fit on their second.

CTE I can see in a similar slot to mystery jets last year on the mainstage, qotsa - no, either one of biffy or mumford looks possible, arctic monkeys cant be ruled out yet due to them playing european festivals, pixies wont happen, the courteeners wont play twice in a row, the enemy are a band i would associate more with T and V but possible as they played both last year and the courteeners are similar and went down well. Vampire weekend 3rd possibly if they did play, I'd say editors are more likely for V and Bloc Party subbing or 3rd, though a lot is guess work and going off the rules people on here apply, may need a bit of correcting

It's just the Optimus Alive! headliners are all announced now and they often have a headliner who is somewhere on the R+L bill, but the others being Depeche Mode and Green Day make KOL the likelier act (if any at all, of course). Also a Hove Festival (also with FR) headliner usually has a place on the R+L lineup too, and KOL have just been announced there as well.

I think the fact KOL have been announced as headliners for one of Festival Republic's other events in Europe makes their appearance at Reading/Leeds rather unlikely.

Kings Of Leon have June arena dates, quite a substantial tour too. They won't book a headliner playing their own set of dates a month before the festival.

Ah, I'd completely forgotten they had announced dates in UK already. Thanks.

Since Hove joined FR, there's been these headlining Hove and playing R+L.

2009- Faith No More

2010- Arcade Fire

2011- The Strokes

2012- The Shins

But as mentioned before, they're playing UK gigs in the summer therefore less likely, so it's a moot point really.
