Bit of a shity line up!! Does seem a bit confused where they want to target the audience with current rumors if they are true...The problem with a mixed festival, is that people love a stereotype of an audience that isn't what they think they fall into....E.g. The 1Xtra tent attracting knife carrying chav's...It's far more likely to be populated by posh white boys in chino's thinking they are massively cool and into grime. But the stereotype might put some people off, (tbh posh chino wearing types put me off to).

Worse part of today is by far fucking Alt. J headlining the NME! Madness I tell you madness!!

At least the 1xtra stage is exactly what you would expect! I have a softspot for Wiley and Skepta. (Does look like their performing as Boy Better Know.)

Neil, do you have any information that could point towards an announcement this side of Xmas or march?

I have nothing concrete, but I'd happily guess that nothing further will be announced until after xmas.

I'm not sure if they'll still use late March for the main announcement - because other stuff has changed I think that might do too. There's a new press team, who I suspect are the ones who suggest the timings for announcements for biggest impact and success, tho of course they can't announce what hasn't been booked (or agree to be announced at that time, perhaps because of other dates they have) so MF do have ultimate control on when things happen.

Why are so many people shocked that Alt-J are headlining the NME stage, they are huge in the press and have sold out 2 nights at Brixton with ease. It's not as if they would be the first act to headline it with 1 album either.

    • Looking like will be bringing a 2-3 month old to Glastonbury next year
    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
