Charity for the "look at me! look at me!" Facebook generation. No doubt there will be "hilarious" updates on facebook and twitter every half hour.

Why cant people just donate quietly to a charity of their choice anymore? Why does there always have to be an element of self-promotion?

I note these tools dont actually donate themselves, that's for others to do, but they do get a helluva lot of attention.

It's win-win!

I've never even heard of Movember until reading this. So then I looked it up and came across this;

November - the month of the year when a load of desperate attention seekers grow a moustache in the thinly veiled pretence that they are doing it for charity, when actually they think it will get girls to talk to them.

Wonder how much of that is true despite the argument it's all for charity. Why not do stuff in March for charity for example. Don't bother answering because I've just realised I don't care.

I saw a couple more of these braying bellwhiffs on the train this morning comparing the whispy little pubes on their top lips. Why is it that the sort of people that so these self promoting stunts always talk a couple of decibels louder than everyone else, and work in "media"?. They were probably on their way to that anti-capitalist camp, safe in the knowledge that their trust funds will shield them from any single kind of discomfort whatsoever in their priviledged, safe, utterly tedious pointless existences.

If I ever find a lump on my swingers I've a good mind to let it become cancerous and die just to spite them.

If only they did keep it "their business". That's the whole problem. They make it my business by mentioning it every hour for 30 days and acting like they are personally finding a cure for cancer.

They are not. They are merely growing a moustache and getting other people to pay money. The self promoting dimwits.

Do you feel the same about people who do a sponsored silence or a sponsored walk? Perhaps some people are a bit "look at me, look at me!" but does it matter if they earn money for charity? It's the same with nearly any form of fundraising wether it be growing a moustache, dressing up at work or sitting in a bath of beans. I don't see how individuals can get involved in fundraising without promoting themselves and although you may not be, some others may be interested in being updated on how the fundraising is going.

    • Its massively bonkers the cost now amd it means missing out on some gigs but buying into only promotes it. Im more annoyed at gigs that are cheap that I have to resist as I'm far too tired after work.
    • Yeah I mean first time seeing them sure, I was the same in 2010. Their arena tour got a bit boring, it was like just get on with it. Feeder being in a tent was silly really, there is a difference between being around 4th down on main stage snd then moving that crowd into a tent.

    • I think they'll be playing in a suspended platform, you can see it in their instagram, they've done that before in Lisbon   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZKSRZ1qIDe/   https://www.instagram.com/reel/DP6J4KIjMAG/
