Guitargeek
I was looking for something to describe them at Leeds in 2006. Leaden, middle of the road American radio rock, will do fine thanks. I was never really a fan, but gave them a go and watched probably more than i should have,i left totally underwhelmed.
neilloggie
I've spoken to many at that gig and listened to the bootleg many times. This is the first time I would've even imagined someone could walk away from that. I am a massive fan though.
formed a band
Pearl jam are somethin that is part of your life at the right time and its relevant. That's why I think the Beatles are shit
Red Day
not once in my post did i mention that any of their material was bad
willutalk
Keep this pearl Jam Thread at Glasto going, great thread!! Personally I think that if they (Glastonbury Festival) book Pearl Jam with a softer undercard (Biffy Clyro, Nine Inch Nails ETC) then there will be worry about repeats to the Roskilde incident. Or mosh pits that started breaking up at Reading as Reading had Bullet For My Valentine, Slayer and Killswitch Engage on the same day (heavily mosh pit associated bands). it's just whether Michael or Emily take to the music. Ovechkin
I was never and still aren't a big fan,i have given some of their albums a fair go. The fact i left undewhelmed, is my view only, loads around me were enjoying it,while lots were like me. I watched Soundgarden last year at Download and felt pretty much the same, Maybe it's just Grunge i'm not to keen on.

formed a band
Biffy clyro and pj in the same sentence is pretty offensive
Guitargeek
I get the impression Biffy would probably wonder why they'd even be considered as playing above PJ.

willutalk
No. If they book them, don't book the lineup around them. If they're right to play, they can fit in any lineup. Glastonbury doesn't need to book lineups around the headlining act, it doesn't, and it shouldn't.
thesecretingredientiscrime
Well you wouldn't get a pop artist subbing pj. Is the point I was making.
guypjfreak
christ if biff Could you see Biffy ever taking a sub spot to PJ?. I know they played 3rd down in 2011,then went on to Headline Sonisphere, but that was then and this is now.

Ovechkin
Will probably take a few years (why not wait till they're 60+ :S), they're probably supporting their album next year in Europe (since they're touring the U.S this fall). But if the headliners already are lined up for 2014 like Neil said PJ cant possible be one of them. And then it's back to all these sideprojects 2015 and onwards.. Brad, RNDM, Mad Season, Soundgarden and Vedder solo.. Edited March 27, 2013 by Ovechkin

smytho15
It makes me sad that pearl jam will never play Glastonbury to me the two together are perfect fits. One tragic accident has caused this and it is a sad state of affairs. I love both pearl jam and Glastonbury. Eavis needs to understand that it was not the bands fault book them and close the circle
guypjfreak
i now know PEARL JAM aren't playing and they are working on a new album so lets hope master Eavis comes round and we have them next year
