I chose Nick Lowe over Elbow... Still quite pleased with my decision. What I'd give to see them play atleast a few tunes of their previous 4 albums.

U2 set weren't bad but still glad I stuck with my anti Bono protest and went to see Primal Scream... That satellite thing of the space station was kinda lame.

Elbow were really good at glasto 2011 but although I wasn't there in 2008, I bet those that were at both thought it was the better performance.

Garvey seemed way too pissed to be on stage to me and not up to his usual high standard of vocal when I've seen them in the past.

On reflection, I was also hugely disappointed there was nothing played from the first three albums which to my mind was an absolute travesty. Imagine if radiohead tried it?

Sorry for the 'downer' on a Friday night but just my two penneth.

Well, it is difficult to choose when you have only 10 songs to play out of a superb catalogue! - And BBC4 didn't show everything, the backwards Mexican roll for instance or how Guy charmed the audience agin and again with his chatter. I saw 2008 as well as 2011, Guy a great front man, and I always take my hat off as the songs are sometimes so high that live he can struggle. I read somewhere that he never performs Powder Blue ( still my fave Elbow song ) live anymore as too high. It may not have been technically brilliant, but it was heart warming, good humoured, charming, and perfect for the pre-headliner position as the sun was slowly setting! I loved it! Both at Glasto and just now again on tv.

I thought it was a great set, there are few bands who could hold a large crowds attention with slow tempo songs sub headlining the Pyramid. Magnificent. Garvey drunk? I didn't think so, well not any more than usual, he just loves Glasto and shows it on the stage, a real frontman, shame there aren't more like him out there.

The also have such a great catalogue now, that they can get away with playing songs only from the the last two albums, but I agree it would be nice to have 2 or 3 from the earlier albums

In 2008 SSK was relatively new so the songs blew a lot of people away, the album is a masterpiece, and is proven by the fact that they rightly still play a lot of songs from that album live now

Saying that if you mean the queens head set in 2008, rather than the other stage set, well that's different. The queens head set was the greatest gig I have ever been to, people got very emotional watching them in such an intimate venue, helped by them playing lots of old stuff. I cannot see that set ever being beaten. Tear jerking stuff

Guy Garvey drunk? Not that I noticed, he was happy and played the crowd like a children's entertainer, was a great set and a happy moment in my life that I got to share with my children on that hill, with that view, in that sunset. Worth the ticket price for that evening alone.

I'd have liked to have seen pulp, but there was no contest for me personally.

I've watched the u2 set since, seemed a bit flat and lifeless if I am honest, made me glad I chose the primals.

I've enjoyed quite a bit of the footage since, with the elbow and coldplay sets being the most frequently viewed/listened to in the background, which surprises me, as I hadn't even planned to see coldplay and (like the primals) the often terrible vocal didn't damage my enjoyement.

Re the drink thing I guess it's personal preference whether you want perfect flawless vocals or a relaxed frontman clearing having a good time and interacting with the crowd. Personally I think Garvey struck the balance really well - like watching one of your mates onstage who happens to be very talented and in an extremely good band.

The more I think about it radiohead playing kol/morrisey in the rain one night and pulp/elbow as the glorious sun went down the next couldn't be more appropriate - what a fantastic festival that was.

i'm not much of an Elbow fan at all, but it's hard not to like Garvey and get carried along with him. i enjoyed watching their set when i got home.

however, i wouldn't swap the memory of seeing Janelle Monae for anything.

I thought U2 looked pretty good, not as good as being there, as down the front I thought it was a great atmosphere. Though on TV the sset does look subdued, which the rain obviously had a part to play, but the end should have been much more of an ending, if they'd finished on 'With or Without You I think it would've been better.

Elbow looked brilliant, I'd heard people say about Guy Garvey having total crowd control, but he was far better than I expected. Gutted I missed their set but I'm seeing them at Leeds, and given the choice I'd still see Pulp in the park.

Gutted I missed out watching this but I was down the pub.

Elbows set was fantastic I thought and I loved Guy Garvey's interaction with the crowd, he was doing all the cliche rock gig stuff but it seemed a bit less patronising and was exactly in the right moments. It is a shame that we didn't get any songs from Asleep in the back, but I wasn't really expecting them to play any so I wasn't that dissapointed.

Also really liked Guy Garvey's interview on the BBC afterwards, he came across as a really humble bloke and he also championed The Walkmen, another fantastic band who played earlyer on that day after Graham Coxons great set at the park.
