England have a bit more to offer than Greece, in terms of pace down the wings, but that's it.

Young/Walcott/Ox is a pretty good set of wingers, and Woy's suggested that Ox will be considered for starts.

I just don't think we have any player who can control midfield, and we'll need exceptional organisation for whatever defense is put out to pass. Also, Gerrard as captain rules out a 10 men behind the ball defending. I don't think he's got the discipline for that.

looks like Cawwoll is going to be England's fwont-man in the absence of Wooney.

That's a scawy thought, whichevew way it goes. If it goes well, I can see Woy being weluctant to westore Wooney.

I thought I'd better correct my post. :P:lol:

Yes, I know it's in poor taste but Monty Python is too ingrained into British culture.

Oh this current England squad is still much better than the Greek one but probably not enough better to gain success by a different tactic. I agree when you bring up discipline, with England having egos do they have the discipline of the Greeks, also Im not sure they have the same fitness.

The biggest question I'd have there of the probable starting 11 is Gerrard. Lampard's learnt more defensive discipline, Barry's defensive anyway, Young's learnt to do a bit more. Walcott isn't good at defending but he'll be prepared to. Ox would if he came on although wouldn't be much better than Walcott, maybe that's why Downing was brought?

the piece i read this morning in the Guardian pretty much named the starting 11 - and there's no Lumpard.

Carroll up front, Walcott, Gerrard, and Downing (or, just perhaps, Ox), Barry and Parker behind them, then Cole and Johnson wide at the back, with a bit of argument over who the first choices are for the centre backs.

But it's not looking like Terry is one of those - otherwise I can't understand why he's had "time off to recover" from a game he didn't play.

Why why why why WHY would anyone go with Downing over Ox or Young though? Him even going is bad enough, but in the starting 11?

ahhh - my apologies.

I pulled the names from memory, and it was Young and not Downing that the piece suggested. My error.

I've not seen this discussed on here, My club (Swindon) has been hitting the headlines of late.

Luke McCormack (http://www.telegraph...nken-crash.html) has been training once a week since January while on day release.

STFCs name has been dragged in the mudd since this went public this week http://www.thesun.co...indon-Town.html these last few days, pretty uncomfortable reading - most papers and radio debates seem to have all the wrong details too.

Do we think he should be allowed a route back into football?

Personally, I'm happy the club are playing a part in the rehab of a convicted crimial

Just heard on 5 Live that Martinez has been offered the Liverpool job.

I really like him but it's a risk although he will be good for PR after Kenny's strange behaviour with the media....

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
    • I'm finding the lower line up a little impenetrable this year   Any thoughts on heavier bands a la Slift a few years ago?
