as I mentioned above, I was thinking more Suarez and Defoe, but you could be right with that one too.

Thje other club that I guess is a possible would be Arsenal cos they need some more striker cover. But Spurs to Arsenal seems far less likely of the two.

It looks like the Saha thing defo has Pienaar going the other way, back to Everton.

And I'm guessing that once that's tied up that Spurs will be losing a striker, which is likely to be Defoe from what he'd said earlier in the month, about leaving to get more games to get himself into the England squad.

My first and strongest guess was Liverpool, but Yossi Benyoun has just tweeted "Last day of the transfer window always interesting. So many things happening..." - so perhaps he's going to Arsenal after all.

Theres no way defoe would be sold to chelsea, liverpool or arsenal. I cant see his value significantly decreasing by the summer and levy is a clever man who wont look to strengthen any side with one eye on the champions league.

so it turned out that it was Pauly that Spurs were losing and not Defoe.

It seemed so obvious to me that it was going to be defoe, as he'd been making out noises earlier in the month in the hope of getting into the England squad for the euros.

I'm not sure holding onto him is going to see him putting in big efforts in the short periods he'll get to play. While Spurs might not have wanted to sell him, keeping him might turn out to be a mistake.

City on paper should walk it... but they just aren't getting the job done and there seems to be no "team bonding" at all there... While United don't look as strong on paper, Ferguson and co have been there and done this before, they are far more "united"... I can see them pushing on now...

Utd have a lot of players out, granted. But they're still in a slump and they were in the slump before losing those players.

I'm sure they'll get it together sooner or later, they always do. But my point is that City will also get it together from their own slump, and if everything is even with that then I reckon it'll go City's way.

Also, wouldn't go crazy about Liverpool's great form. They got well beaten by Bolton two weeks ago, were lucky against Utd in the FA Cup (dominated at home for large periods by Utds 2nd team)

I'm not going crazy about Liverpool's form - but three goals last night is a big improvement from them compared to just about all the season so far. I'm simply thinking that perhaps their luck has turned a little and they'll start getting the goals that they really should have been getting all season.

As for your "dominated at home for large periods by Utds 2nd team" line, if domination means waving at the goal they need to score into from 100 yards away then let them have it.

and Wolves defensive "performance" last night was as bad as it gets. Carrolls goal - that throw in. Nobody marking the thrower?! Leaving a 2 on 1 for Bellamy to cross?! You'd get an earful for that down on the after-work astro league, honestly. Thats so basic its laughable. go on admit it, your a liverpool fan. All this talk about you being an aldershot fan is just an act to make people think your not a glory hunter, your disdain for united is quite understandable now.

I supported them as a kid. That's not new news.

Nowadays my only liking is watching attractive football. Utd have never managed that consistently under fergie and (aside from my dislike of ferrgie and utd arrogance) that's the only driver of my distain for Utd.

Meanwhile, you have a massive distain for anyone or anything that's even vaguely negative about Utd, as you keep proving. If I'm wearing blinkers they're not a spot on your own.
