Even Bolton have scored more than Liverpool. Also, why did Daglish play 3 central defenders at home vs Crouch at the weekend?!

And I'm absolutely delighted for Scholes. Dodgy first half but thats to be expected after nearly 8 months without a game. He'll get his range back with a few games under his belt. Hope he gets it back quickly though or he won't be playing in some of those tough away games coming up.

Utd played 4-2-4 for most of the game which was great to see. Hes no world beater but Carrick has been solid recently.

And as for Valencia!

Beep beep!! :D

He did it last season against Stoke and it worked brilliantly. The players brought in (Bellamy aside) just don't look as deadly as the players used last season.

I've been impressed with Carrick the past 2 months. I thought he was past it, I hadn't seen a good game from him for over 2 years, but he's playing really well atm.

Ancelotti in todays Gazetta dello Sport:

"There is a lot of choice for this January market. Do you want the names? Ok, now I tell you the players the agents are offering on the market, officially or not: Tevez, Torres, Berbatov, Pavlyuchenko, Cavani, Llorente."

Interesting.

YES!

Cracking signing! He and Ba should be lethal together! Hopefully they'll be playing together at the ACoN as well, get the partnership molded and free-scoring by the time they return.

Glorious glorious news. Hopefully we can keep sneaking points before they return and then they'll fire us into the Europa League.

I haven't been this excited about a new signing in years. Most of our recent ones, while they've turned out brilliant, didn't have much reputation before. Ben Arfa was the only one under the Ashley regime and that was very protracted.

Awesome.

Gutted missed out on a trip to Newcastle in the cup thanks to a penalty shoot out, scored 4 of 5 but not enough. Lead for.most of the 90 mins as well. We gave a championship a real run for their money over 2 games, very proud of them. Oh well time to.concentrate on the league.

Anyone see Pepe's antics last night? How someone can do that in front of the footballing world is beyond me.

Also, been enjoying the "Football's Greatest Managers" series on Sky Sports. Only seen the Fergie and Paisley ones. Really hits home when you see the roll call of trophies they've won. Relentless winners.

On the sponsorship deals note, anyone notice how the supposed 'shirt+stadium' sponsor didn't bother with taking the name of the 'Sportsdirect Arena'? Got Virgin Money on our shirts, but they decided the stadium wasn't worth adding onto that. I'm not convinced it'll ever do more than make people pissed off with Ashley.

To be fair would you really want the 'Virgin Stadium'?

Oh and on another note that petition Barry posted about Kevin Williams and Hillsborough quite miraculously hit the 100,000 mark today. Well done everybody who signed!

Oh they would

Oh, I know .... I was just making my statement clear, cos some of those Utd fans are sensitive souls who can't handle reading anything which could reflect badly on their club. It's easier to pre-empt the comeback of numpties than have the pointless argument they'd cook up.

    • There is a chance that Norton's reaction was very much like our reaction, because people in this country tend to think 'big = Glastonbury'.   Having said that, though, I'm fairly sure they've gone for her again this time, and it's broken down. Whether it's only just broken down or not, I'm not sure, but I'd air on the side of - they thought they had her, up to a certain point.
    • Yeah, I did wonder if they might be getting too big for Piece Hall now. Wet Leg did Castlefield this year and were subbing them at Tramlines. Wishful thinking! I'd happily see them do another outdoor headline in the north of England, wherever it might be (except R+L, which I'm def too old for now 😂)
    • You've certainly got a bunch of American acts who absolutely adore the festival and are willing to bring peanuts for it. You can never discount The Killers on that basis.
    • Law unto herself, Madge. But I think, for a certain generation, Hyde Park still has a touch of mystery and magic - that and Wembley Stadium.
    • I personally think Glasto big slots mean more to British artists that American ones don't (except Rodrigo, Killers, Foo Fighters) - in recent years anyway. The chance to pay (for a lot more money) to more of her own fans for 3 nights at BST must be more appealing to Madonna.
