Mumfords seem like marmite, everyone seems to love them or hate them. Which makes me feel weird because I think they're a bit samey and boring but I dont hate them as such. It's not going to piss me off if they're there. Or even if they're headlining.

Some of you care too much.

Mumfords would put people in a bloody good mood...

Look as much as you hate them, i've never seen someone ever come back from a mumford gig saying they didn't "give it their all" and that their "shit live".

Maybe they are one of those bands who on record are pretty dull, but in a good setting like a concert, really connect with the crowd, for example... this definitely looks like a bouncy performance to me.

as for this " but they are good live!" thing

Looking earnest, frantically plucking a banjo and sweating a lot does not make a good live performance.

I've seen them live, and they are fucking shite. The songs and the whoppers that sing them: shite.

An experience that you could only get live, Mumford sound exactly the same live as they do on record, there's nothing new there, just the same boring tunes.

Totally agree, i was a big fan of them when they released their first album and saw them live a few times and each time they were amazing and the crowd loved it. I'm a bit bored of them now and wouldn't watch them this year if they headline, but i can't help but think that if they did it would be one of those sets that people will be chanting about all night!

so who are the 3 emily was talking about: mariah, prince and ....?

I see you've been reading the stories written on the poorer websites, where they won't commit to saying who they think the 3rd is.

Yet more amusingly, some of those same sites are suggesting that Rihanna &/or Fleetwood Mac are in the running to headline.

Emily's words are too vague to pin things down to any 3 particular acts without having to guess at it.

In the last week or so there's been stories about all of the following to headline:

Rolling Stones

Maria Carey

Prince

Rihanna

Take That

Take your pick. :)

Don't let yourself become disillusioned.

The waiting is all Neil's fault, anyway. Just today several people have mentioned The Rolling Stones in sentences relating to Glastonbury but, despite this, Neil refuses to change their status to at least TBC. Yesterday I saw someone in a Dark Side of the Moon T-Shirt who looked like the sort of chap who'd have heard of Glastonbury and yet still he won't even add Pink Floyd to the rumours list.

I know I'm not the only one who's sick of his "the information must come from a good source" and "nothing's actually confirmed until the festival confirm it" nonsense. Honestly, why can't Neil just announce the whole line up based on the whims and wants of people on this forum? We can worry about it being wrong later.

I didn't get this much hassle from the U2 fans last year, when i'm pretty sure they stayed as only a strong rumour right up until they were officially confirmed (and unlike with the stones I always thought they were playing, I just didn't know for certain).

    • Having watched Linkin Park's Rock am Ring set I'd imagine they've used a different stage specifically for their light show, its insane
    • Blink, Slipknot and Maiden
    • Good luck! Have you also registered your interest on Twickets? https://partners.twickets.live/endoftheroad/ 🙂
    • Likelihood is it'll be on Sunrise and Alcove but theres potential for some more in the tent as there have been 8 acts on some days in recent years. Obelisk is likely full now unless they have a few shorter sets thrown in   Im surprised they haven't had some secret sets thrown into the mix this time round unless they do and we find some gaps in the schedule is released
