Marillion were turned down for the festival because they were "too heavy" :O

Thing is, if you're not into a genre it does all sound the same. I'll happily admit that the sub-genres of dance music don't mean a lot to me. But the weighting of the amount of dance music at Glastonbury does seem quite surprising, especially when you take into account all of the SE corner. "Dance music" might be a large umbrella but it must encompass nearly 50% of the festival now. I'd love for a bit more rock and a bit more variety of rock as well.

Genre arguments are fairly retarded, but in 1995 when the first dance stage was brought in, it was a stage solely geared to one genre, electronic dance music, which was just as much of a genre then as metal music is now. So, I think glastonbury does have a history of a stage intentionally geared towards one genre.

Anyway, metal heads would have a fit with metal being regarded as a well defined genre considering their even more anal about their subgenres than dance heads. Post screamcore death viking blah blah blah

just to point out, there is nothing that says its an exclusive English date. Only that its a single uk stopover date. Wether that means anything but with v fest ruled out, reading and leeds ruled out, close enough to London you'd think that it'd rule out any wireless date, but far enough away for a headline slot at a sold out Glastonbury thou

Yup, you'd say so and with Neil saying while he can't say for defo Gaga has been signed, he doesn't think its right, at the minute I'm with arctics, the stones and mumford. They are defo the cheaper headliner the fest would need if its taking what it is to maybe secure the stones. If they say no, Eavis'll have a backup option happy to do it.

A lot of fuss got made over the 6000th or 7000th post before but I think the 400 page barrier is much more impressive. It's a collective team-effort, not an individual piece of luck.

Well done, everyone. Now, let's just have a little think about what we've learned over the last 400 pages...

...erm...

...well...

...so...

...right, well approximately nothing then. Excellent work all round.

    • Feels like Leeds getting axed is just a matter of time now, and to be honest, it might be the only way to save Reading. The whole twin-site format just feels proper dated and way too expensive to run nowadays. If they scrapped Leeds and focused entirely on Reading, turning it into a proper London-adjacent day-trip fest for the younger crowd like All Points East or Wireless, it would actually make sense financially. But yeah, for the old-school rock crowd, the R&L era is completely dead and buried.
    • Its the obvious  place to find savings but will Ed Miliband play along? Will Labour MP's finally accept benefits cuts? This is as damaging for Reeves as for Starmer. Its hard to see how either survives. Meanwhile Burnham is bringing up WASPI when there is no chance they'll get anything. He'll have to say something about funding defence.
    • Yeah, I managed 2 at once last year but the setup meant 1 per purchase, my partner had to do her one separately using her code   14th Primavera, bring it on!
    • I’m heading to this but need to leave on the Sat. Does anyone have any experience of getting back to the train station without the shuttle bus running? Seems like it might be tricky
    • and cut net zero of course
