hopefully radiohead will get given the slot and show that dinosaur how to put on a festival headline slot that is remembered with awe for decades after.

Top Tip: dont play 25 songs that all sound the same

2nd Top Tip: if you are going to rip off other bands, pick someone better than KISS!

Does being announced for Coachella make Blur more likely?
nope.

Nothing that is announced for Coachella makes anyone likely for Glasto just by the fact of them playing Coachella. It makes them possible for Glasto because they might still be touring when Glasto happens, but nothing of that is firmly related to Coachella.

I just dont see the logic in inviting someone back just 3 short years after they put in a turgid performance that was widely despised and ridiculed for being desperately dull.

Doesnt make a lot of sense to me

It was the most dull and tiresome headline performance I've ever seen. I am sure a tiny fraction of his superfans who would climax if he walked on stage and farted down the microphone loved it, but I am talking about the normal people. The people who were bored rigid.

There is absolutely no demand for bruce springsteen to headline again so soon whatsoever.

As for nick cave, not sure anyone is demanding him to play again so soon are they? So what's the relevance of your point?

There is absolutely no demand for bruce springsteen to headline again so soon whatsoever.

I know it's all great to say "A Band that no one has noticed"... but there aren't alot of people around at the time that aren't

a) Touring overseas

b ) Booked to other festivals

c) Not doing festivals.

It will most likely be who they can book.

I reckon if radiohead headline the saturday, it'l be between Gaga, Mumford, Prince or maybe even blur.

Am I the only one that enjoyed Nick Cave then? I can't say I knew all that much about him before but I really enjoyed and it made me go out and buy a fair few of his albums. I'd love to see him again.

Springsteen on the other hand bored the shit out of me, such a massive disappointment!

    • I was assuming September in Stirling might have a different issue tbf in the form of it just pissing it down.
    • Yeah so many of mine seem to be just France v Spain in one semi and England/Brazil v Argentina in the other. But the fact those combos are the obvious ones mean it feels unlikely that'll happen because in World Cup history, you very rarely end up with what pre-tournament looks like the obvious final 4. We all see teams outperform and underperform. Which one is the fall guy is a different matter.   I've said elsewhere that for me, there's a hierarchy of Spain, France and Argentina as the 3 strongest looking, then England and Portugal, then Brazil and Germany, but that overall, they'd be the 7 likeliest to win. So I dunno, maybe this will be the time the Netherlands avenge the failure of total football in 1974 and achieve what they couldn't achieve through whatever the f**k Nigel de Jong was with his 2010 final karate moves.
    • Oh I think Infantino should resign. His handling of the whole WC process has been an utter shitshow. But you know. That would require him having integrity or something.
    • Good Charlotte would be fine third down or subbing. If they can get a bigger sub and still get GC, they’ll play third down.
