Kasabian frontman on Reading 2012 tonight. 'It's probably the best rock 'n' roll line-up in Britain, in fact it probably beats Glastonbury'

Jesus, you don't say considering there's no festival this year! :sarcastic: I think Glastonbury's line-up next year as a whole will beat anything hands down, maybe a little bias but ah well.

I saw Kasabian at Brixton on Monday and they absolutely smashed it. i know there not everyones cup of tea but they are one of the best live acts out there at the moment. That night was insane.

That said I hope they don't play next year and wait until they release the next album, feels like they've been touring Velociraptor for a long time now and I want to see a different set!

I have to be honest, having watched Kasabian's set on the telly, I thought they smashed it.

I saw them at glastonbury in 2009 and it was weak by comparison. I can't say whether this was because they don't suit a sunset slot or because the crowd at glastonbury were less enthusiastic (lots of people would have been waiting for Bruce in '09).

As to whether they would be a good headliner at Glastonbury, I think that could only really be judged after the event, based on last night's evidence.

I'm very much of a different opinion, I thought they looked pretty poor last night. I've seen them twice, and they were good both times, but a think a poor new record compared to the other two, and an over reliance on crowd interaction has diminished them a bit. Tom has also turned into a five year old's drawing of Liam Gallagher.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I've seen Kasabian headline festivals twice and smash it both times, even winning over the far more chilled Rockness crowd. As for the Oasis comparison, they've long moved on from just imitating Liam, you listened to their last two records?

As for headliners, I reckon that Eavis will somehow manage to convince the Rolling Stones to play, along with Radiohead. The third slot could be filled by anyone, including Kasabian, but also The Stone Roses and don't rule out Arctic Monkeys.
