Friday night last year.

Myself and 4 other mates stagger back at 5am from Shangri-La to our camp in Kidney Mead.

Get to the meeting point area and two of the lads decide they want the toilet leaving another 3 of us waiting.

One of my mates who is waiting is still rather "wired" and decides a spliff would knock him out..except none of uxhabr any.

Suddenly he starts shouting at the top of his vice "CAN SOMEONE SORT ME OUT WITH SOME WEED".

Considering this was whilst the area looked like a ghost town apart from us and that his shouting had attracted the attention of the security nearby i told him to quieten down.

Then out of the mist of the entrance to kidney mead a figure appears and starts heading towards us. A man who looks like comic book man from the simpsons strides right up to us and pulls a huge bag of skunk out. He takes a bit off the top and puts it in my hand.

My mate stands there openmouthed and tries to give him

some money but the guy just shakes his head (having not uttered a word to us) and walks off again back into the mist.

All 5 of us look at each other in disbelief and then head the same way as h but he'd gone.

Got back, smoked a J everyone slept, then told the rest of our camp the next morning who all though we imagined it...but 5 of us imagining it? And what about the leftovers we smoked during Reef the next day?

Random acts of kindness are the best!! :D

I got chatting to a young man in 2005 who'd come on his own. He had lost absolutely everything in the flood. He went on to tell me that different groups of complete strangers had given him clothes, food, drugs and booze and he was having a great time. His clothes were too big for him though which made it even more endearing. He was even passing a bottle of booze around to spread the kindness. :)

2 years ago on the Wednesday night my Camera fell out of my pocket at the Cider Bus. Thought it was probably long gone but as it was a nice camera I went to the lost property tent the next day and filled in all the forms. Low and behold a few hours later I got a call from lost and found to say my camera had been handed in.

It appears these two lovely girls found it the night before and took photos of their night out before handing it in.

To this day I have no idea who they are but if I ever see them I am buying a few rounds at the cider bus.

My 6 year old son made a puppet in the kidz field last year. We later sat by the cinema tent in some shade and then headed up to the green fields where we spent a few hours. We then suddenly rembered we had left his puppet by the cinema tent!!!!

We rushed back to find that the puppet was still there but someone had stood it up so it could do a bit of puppet watching. My son said 'this is what I like about Glastonbury- everyone is so nice'.

He is soo right. Thank you if you looked after the puppet.

Myself and the OH bumped into Sean Hughes in 2007. During the chat we had with him he offered us some clean clothes as we were rather muddy. We gratefully declined, saying that it would only get muddy as well!

Thoroughly nice chap

I read this thread with a smile on my face... It will make our job at the festival this year easier, yes, do not fear, the Karma Police will indeed be in attendance again, helping you all to share the love in these and other unmentionable ways.. and to make our passage around the site more efficient, we shall be mounted (on horseback that is- behave!) :D

In 2009, baking in the sun at the bath and west show ground for 5 hours, not really going anywhere, a random chap with a big orange van was wandering through the queue asking people if they were on their own, I replied I was and he asked if I wanted a lift. His van was filled with strangers and he'd filled it as full as he could.

In 2010 a friend met me at the gates, helped carry our stuff then on the way mentioned his dad had offered us a space with them in the crew camping in the green fields, which was luxury. I'd basically only met his dad twice and he didnt need to give up space for us but did, they were really hospitable all week and at the end of the week cheesie, one of these nice folk, gave us a lift off site to temple meads.

When we finally found a pitch about 1am Wednesday night 2009 our neighbours came back and despite being a bit drunk helped us pitch our tent in the dark, no mean feat as there wasn't much room!

This was on top of a nice thing we did. Met a bloke on the coach that year who had never been to a festival or camping before and was meant to be meeting his mate from another coach. We bonded during the 12 hours in traffic and we all pitched together as he wouldn't have had a chance on his own. He was happy to do his own thing during the day, and we all sat out and chatted at night although we did all spend Sunday together. He was a Springsteen nut, and I'm not sure if he ever found his friend.

It was great when he came back and told us he'd taken our advice on various stuff whilst out and about, and we've kept in touch, meeting again this year!

I like to think that we helped make his first festival a little nicer :)

We left the West Midlands at 10am on the Wednesday in 2009 and the usual 3 hour journey ended up taking 13 hours!!! We arrived on site at 11pm starting to feel grumpy and tired struggling with all of our kit walking through the Dance Field and it was very busy.

All of a sudden the top came off our cool box making cherry tomoatoes and other various contents to jump out and decided to roll in different directions. A small crowd of people suddenly rushed to our aid, helped put everything back in the box and walked off into the distance to enjoy their night. It was quite surreal to see so many people willing to help wihtout even giving it a second thought.

An hour later we were pitched and drank and talked until the sun came up with the realisation of what Glastonbury is all about.

In 2007 I was 7 months preggers and had really bad heartburn - remember it was pretty muddy too! and my hubby went into a food tent and asked where he could buy some milk, the guys pulled me in, everyone in the queue moved over and they gave me a pint of milk for free....cute.

My hubby still talks about that day. :D

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
