There's a new map on the official site dated yesterday (map6june11.jpg)...

http://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/information/

Bored, and obsessed, the differences I’ve spotted from the last (fineguide-2011-copye.jpg 3/5/11) version:

- New 'Bottle Refill Point' points added

- Lots of ‘TW’ Toilet/Water points added

- Cyclist camping near Gate A is bigger

- Bushy Ground - New pathway route, Stewards moved and lockups moved

- Oxleyers – new pathway route, new lockup and removed steward point

- ‘Bridge House Gate’ added to Lime Kiln Ground

- New Bar – ‘under’ West Dance Oxleyers

- New Bar – ‘above’ Oxleyers Bridge

- New Bar – in the Market between the Pyramid and Top Webbs Ash

- New Bar – in the Market between the Pyramid and the Dance field

- Bigger ‘Bassline’ venue in The Common

- New lockup near the ‘Spirit of 71’ stage

- The church (?) has been shifted along above Big Ground

I assume some of the new bars are really new …

yep i asked on here the last 2 years for a crew map, but none available. Shame really as the grid was useful to meet people.

From TOS: New for 2011 there will be designated bottle refill points identified on the festival map.

I assume you take bottles and they give you water in them? Does anyone know any more about this? (ie. do they fill them from a tap, or do you trade empty bottles for full ones?)

In Previous years the WBC used to hold a briefing day for WBC Organiser's but they did not hold one this year - in fact they have switched to a online briefing system .

They used to hand out maps printed on A2 or A3 card that were more detailed than the official public map but this year all they have done is edited the official map so it just shows the WBC camp and WBC coach drop off point so nothing like previous years.

After last year, and in preperation for the "scorchio" festival this year it makes sense to make sure that these tap thingies are clearly shown. Helps people avoid paying £2.00 for water as we ended up doing last year at one point!

How long is your hair? I never used to wash my hair at festivals but now always give it a wash on the Saturday morning, it feels so good

Oh well, after 14 times you would think i know the site by now, but i guarentee at 2am on Friday morning i will be lost somewhere :-) All part of the fun.

Looking at the latest official map, looks like there are a lot of extra bars this year. The one i noticed is one by the West Holts stage. Might take some of the pressure off the borthers bar this year.

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
