Recommended Posts

I have a very specific check list of items i carry around each day in a bag, just wondering if anyone else has anything different.

- Booze (usually 10 cans)

- Water proof

- Fleece

- Wooly hat

- Sun glasses

- Sun hat

- Sun cream

- Toilet roll

- Hand sanitiser

- Water bottle

- Guide

- Rennie

Heavy at first, but far less hassle than going back to the tent/camper

All this goes in pockets and a pretty small cross body bag or even bumbag (I know and i don't care!)

pocket tissues

wet wipes

money

glasses/sunglasses

guide

phone

camera

a small coke bottle half mixed with rum.

a couple of cans of lager, or maybe another small bottle with wine in.

Layers if the weather is changeable tied round my waist (jumper, waterproof).

We do tend to have one trip back to the tent about mid evening if poss to re-fill the spirits and grab night layers, but if we don't make it back it's not the end of the world.

I'll wear either short or combats with a few decent pockets in to put my phone, cash and hip flask in. I'll put sun cream on before I leave the tent and then its just a case of carry either 6 cans in a plastic bag or a bag of red wine. oh and throw in a frozen bottle of water in with the cans to keep em cold for a few hours.

I tend to go for:

- money

- smokes

- small bottle with water

- multi tool (so glad someone else has said this, I thought it was just me!)

- little packet of tissues

- anti bac hand gel

- sun cream

Thats about it really, I usually have a cardi tied round my midle and always go back to the tent before any late night activities to get changed and grab anopther jumper.

I've one of those army satchel bags that can be restrapped into a mini-ruck sack.

In side it:

- Glasses case with glases and contact lense emergancy kit in it (I prefer to have contact lenses at a festival)

- Glasses case for sun glasses (usually worn, but no use at night!)

- Cash

- Ciggies, 2 lighters, ashtray

- 500ml bottle with rum or whiskey in it and a couple of beakers, I often buy a cold drink and mix it with the contents during the day.

- Small pack of baby wipes

- Anti-bacterial hand gel

- Sun cream

- Phone

- Clashfinder.

- Long wooly socks (I tend to wear light weight 3/4 length shorts, but when it is chilly at night, I slip the socks on, a far from 'cool' in looks, but keeps me warm enough).

On a seperate strap a Water bottle (usually a 1 liter one)

Tied/strapped to the outside:

- Woolen shirt (acts as jumper/light jacket)

- Waterproof (rolled up and secured with 2 straps and clipped to 2 of the strap loops on the bag)

On my lanyard, solar powered led torch, guide book in its wallet, £20 note for emergancies (tehse being lost wallet, nicked bag, I've just spent everyting).

That is me sorted untill I come back to the tent at XXXX in the morning.

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
    • It’s rare that I watch question time, but I almost felt sorry for Kenyon, he seemed like a guy just brought off the street which effectively is what he was, made worse by the fact Burnham and the Tory guy were very strong debaters. I think Burnham was very aware not to go too hard on Kenyon and risk him getting sympathy, in fact he pretty much ignored him.
    • Shambles. Transport and comms garbage. Been looking forward to this since last June and have never been to a more disorganised festival in 30+ years.  Why we were told the whole festival was cancelled for the night if they had put back shows for a few hours?  Pissed off to say the very least and put a huge downer on the rest of the weekend.
    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
