I'd guess it's something to do with being BBC sponsored, as the only other date she hasnt cancelled is BBC big weekend. Maybe she has some contract with the BBC that would mean she loses out on something else unannounced as of yet.

Any chance at all of Feeder being slotted in anywhere ? Would have thought they are too big for FR stage wish they were playing never had a chance to see them live :/ (first post dont attack me! )

Yeah, after reading through these forums i was worried, but probably just an over-reaction.

But that does sound do-able then, if they did play (because their tour dates suggest they are 100% free on the weekend) I hope its the Friday at Reading, would make up for my lack of interest in the cure or the maccabees (not saying they're bad)

You listened to either of those two much? Theyre both great bands and the Maccabees were one of the highlights of my weekend in 2010 having not expected much with time to kill. The cure have a great live reputation too.

I think even if you don't manage to find another option you'll be happy if you watch either. I know the cures back catalogue is daunting because there is so much to go through but I can't reccomend them highly enough.

Are Alabama Shakes really big enough for FR headliner? I know their album did well but I didn't think they were that big?

I think The Subways will take one slot.

I'm thinking an indie band, maybe The Drums, for on the Foos day.

And for the third I could see Feeder, similar to Ash a few years ago. Maybe Dan Le Sac/Scroobius Pip, but they did it recently didn't they?

Also, I was thinking about Brendan Benson earlier, maybe about the right size to sub the FR? I'm not too sure how big he is as a solo artist.

Billy from The Subways said they'd love to headline FR if invited when I asked him.

Not worth much, but he did say that they'd be there this year.

Surprised The Big Pink weren't in the last announcement seeing as they've got a new record due, they've never really kicked on from their mid-NME/R1 slots so could see them put somewhere different and headline the FR this year.

The Subways are a good shout but they're probably pretty similar to The big Pink so if those two headlined the third band would likely be something completely different from radio-friendly indie poprock, maybe Brendan Benson or Regina Spektor.
