find it quite amusing we have been discussing for weeks about the cure and green day to headline, and it probably neither of them.

Muse announced an Arena tour the same year they headlined glastonbury too.

What about bands like U2, OMD or Abba for the 3rd headliner? or maybe Sum 41? Reckon they could be a good shout

Tbh, I think a co-headline option of Deadmau5 and Mumford & Sons would have far more of a chance of selling out the festival than most people realise. I don't think it will happen, but if it did the kids would buy tickets, and anyone who's been to the festival in recent years knows what the age range is. I'm not a huge Mumford fan at all, but they are hyped to hell and are liked by a range of fans

Pendulum already have. Bestival last year. Should again point out that I DON'T THINK IT WILL HAPPEN, I just think that it's the kind of thing they could look to if they're struggling so much for a headliner, which I doubt they are really

P.S. Deadmau5 headlining Werchter this year, which has a huge line up www.rockwerchter.be. Plus Rock Ness and Sonar

edit- Worth noting that Mumford are above Kasabian on the Werchter line up. I know it's a festival abroad, but the European scene isn't much different from ours

I cant see us finding anymore out until 12th March. Hasn't Reading had the 3 headliners since December or have I just missed something ? Did a headliner drop out. efest Reading page has more rumours than V's efest does and they line up is hours away, not done badly.

Deadmau5 are not headlining werchter, there just playing last. Things are done different in europe.

I know you're joking, but sales wise, Westlife would be an excellent booking, and a lot better than the others we're talking about. They're the most successful band of the previous decade, and sell out massive venues. They could easily headline if they were right for the fest (I know that's a bit of an oxymoron, however, I mean they're a lot bigger than any equivalent suited for the fest). I am surprised no fest has ever booked them, as I'm pretty certain they would sell it out. I'd be pretty confident they'd selll out R&L as well.

It was effectively their own show, because it was their first announced return show. Look at the rest of the bill for Wireless that day and you can see that it was effectively Pulp's gig with supports.

I'm going say it will be Green Day. They last played before American Idiot was released and they are currently recording their new album.

I doubt they would announce an arena tour without the new album released. They are playing a festival in August in Japan, which they also did last time they played Reading and probably just want to play some shows to get out of the studio.
