Fantastic!! 2011 is going to be a great year for music, so many of my favourite bands bringing out new albums.

'Suck it and see' is a bit of a strange name, but I thought the same about Humbug and what an album that is. to be fair they could call their their new record 'c*nt muscle' and i'd still buy it and it would be brilliant.

i'm seeing them on 10th june at the sheffield bowl so not too fussed if they don't play at glastonbury, but they'd be a splendid addition.

I reckon we'd have heard something by now if they were going to play, they'd have to have a big slot as they're festival headliners. Secret slot could happen I guess but it'd have to be kept under wraps so there wasn't crowd trouble.

Hope their new album is good, didn't like the last one much

Are they really still a big band? This isn't a snidey jibe at them, I just see them as having failed to live up to the early promise.

Same with the Strokes! Don't kill me for this, but they both seem to have fallen away somewhat.

Like the Datsuns.

Isn't Turner a regular Glastonbury punter these days? Could see some sort of secret slot. Maybe sub Beyonce with Pulp headlining the Other if The Libertines aren't doing it though that seems optimistic

for some reason despite them being shocking live they are and headling TiTP, V and Subing at Oxegen, so realistically unless its a super secret slot at the park like radiohead last year I can't see it.

But this Album from the titles and track released, seems like it could be back to what made them good.

Tom, I'm really surprised by your comment about their live performance. i've seen them twice, once at cardiff international arena and once at ally pally, and both shows were magnificent. their set in cardiff in 2007 (a week before they headlined glasto) was the most intense gig i've even been to, and it remains my personal favourite performance by any act i've ever seen live.

did you by any chance see them when they headlined Reading? i watched that on tv and admittedly their performance there didn't blow me away, but i think that had a lot to do with the fact that they'd just released their new album and the crowd didn't know any of the tracks - so it was a bit wasted i think. i could be wrong of course, but that's the impression i got.

i've never heard anyone say they're shit live though (apart from that one time mentioned)

I found them better at Reading '06 than '09. More upbeat in '06, just boring in '09. To have the Prodigy give a crazy energetic performance to be then follwed by "We're gunna slow things down a bit" after playing a horrendously boring song didn't go down too well. That's Festival Republics fault though.

    • Same here, when the lineup dropped it looked very strong but this year I’m considering more whether I buy tickets for enjoyment or fomo.   Speaking of that dilemma, I caved and bought a Turnstile Piece Hall ticket so I’ll see you there 😂
