Agreed, looking back at the headliners who have been fairly small in the last couple years they usually have a big sub.

Arcade Fire

Libertines

Razorlight

Kings of Leon

Pixies

Killers

To name some recent ones

Latitude was our second choice for a long time but we won't be going there this year because my girlfriend's graduation is that week, although we don't know an exact date yet so it could be possible.

In all fairness, hype surrounding Latitude for this year has been more or less dead - I haven't heard a peep from anybody really - no rumours of bands - and anything I have heard has made me doubt the general 'feel' of the place anyway. The impression I get from the place is that it's a mixed bag of w*nkers - middle class toff 'lads on tour' types, an influx of a new audience of chavs, and kids who have been dropped off at the gate and left to run riot for their first weekend away from mummy and daddy.

The impression I get of the place is that it's getting much, much worse as a festival.

A few comments from what I have read. Firstly rem are way too big to be sub headliners and have probably sold more records than the rumoured three headliners combined. Secondly elbow are a band who play arenas, they are certain to sub, dont agree with the dizee comparison as elbow are a more traditional indie band that caters more for the fanbase. Thirdly korn would be a good addition but not for subs. I cant really see why they would play higher than limp bizkit did last year.

Im not sure korn are bigger than limp bizkit. Both are way past their commercial peak in the uk, however when limp bizkit were at their peak in the late 90s they were huge. Im not sure what the bands relative single and album sales are over here, but would suspect your average festival goer could name more songs by durst and co.

    • Orbital opening the Other stage is a bold choice!
    • Great start for them
    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
