Lots of reports of The Streets self confirming at their Leeds O2 Academy gig last night

just came on to post this, mike said early in the set that it might be the last time they play in leeds then said this about a song after:

"well we will be back in leeds, i just can't tell you why"

im pretty certain they'll be there

hope so as well, they were absolutely fantastic last night!!! mike knows how to work a crowd so well, sweet set as well, gonna miss them when they're gone

Well i would like to see and can see them playing, however my Girlfriend is totally against them and hates them! If i can get from under her thumb, i might have to ditch he for an hour or so!

Where they will play? 3-4 on main stage or even NME headliner! (Am i bigging them up a bit?)

I would say they would play high NME if they did, then again there is an outside chance i could see them as an NME headliner?! They can defo sell out an academy tour...hmmmm

The Streets would definitely headline the NME stage.

Personally I would love them as NME headliner on the MCR day.

white lies and the streets are the first two n.m.e headliners for me, frank turner subbing for one of them.

Frank Turner wouldn't sub the NME yet - i doubt even top three.

I think this year will see him early on mainstage. Maybe 3rd on.

I think White Lies will sub The Streets (or play mid main) too - but thats just a what would make sense to me really.

Would make more sense to have bands like Noah and the whales glasvagas and Jamie t on Saturday? Having both elbow and the streets below muse would set the days genre... Can reading justify or fill two decent days with lighter bands? What'd it do to day ticket sales?

I'd imagine they'll headline NME, very similar to LCD last year (similar sound, similar size, final tour etc).

The Streets have gone down very well in previous years R+L even when the line up was on the heavy side. I have never previously been bothered about seeing them live but they would be an EXCELLENT alternative to MCR on Sunday. They could possibly get one of the biggest crowds of the weekend if they were on main stage IMO & be well over capacity in NME (like the days of Klaxons/Artics) on the Sunday night as I think punters would definitely go watch them as the hate for MCR is the worst I have witnessed for a possible R+L headliner.

I wouldnt say the streets and lcd soundsystem are a similar size. The streets are a lot better known and I imagine have sold a lot more records.
