The only reason I can think of for Bloc to keep being booked is they are being groomed for headliner status one day.

nah .... Reading/Leeds has a number of bands that it 'likes' and who feature on their line-ups quite a lot more than other bands - the ones that come to mind for me are Dropkick Murphies, The Streets, Elbow, and Bloc Party... but there's probably some others too.

Are some people underestimating the popularity of elbow. Unless I misheard the radio said they have had to add an extra date at the o2. I would say they are as popular in the uk as last years headliners, but maybe not to the demographic audience.

They'll probably be second, even though I personally think they'd be better third. Saying that they're meant to be very good live and that's enough to make me excited to see them, wherever they play. Agreed, if Paramore can do it, so can Elbow!

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
