Evil Heat was a cool album. Riot City Blues was solid. Granted that Beautiful Future wasn't brilliant but Can't Go Back was a tune and a half.

and are you suggesting that a band celebrating the 20 year anniversary of their breakthrough album with a re-release and a tour is a bad thing? Why would they not do it.... the demand is there? plus it's a mixture of a greatest hits set and the entire of that album. Go to an ATP festival sir :)

This Friday yes? That would be incredible :)

Agree about Evil Heat - also rated Vanishing Point as well.

Maybe my problem is this replaying entire old albums thing (and this obviously doesnt just apply to Scream). Celebrating a breakthrough album it may be - demand there undoubtedly is. Still seems a cop out to me - and says more about the creativity and desire to move forward that may/ may not be present in that band. Mixing "greatest hits" in with newer material would show it and the new stuff in a different light. This seems rather like being a tribute band of themselves - just milking it for what its worth.

Just an opinion.

"Yes, and what's wrong with that? Dammit I hate that enjoyable stuff..."

enjoyable ain't the same as artistic and worthwhile is it? having a w*nk is enjoyable, but that's as far as it goes.

"Really? Last time I looked it was their album to do with what they liked. And it's surely been a while since most of those tracks were given a decent airing."

well, it's more weatherall's album than theirs, and yeah they can do what they want with it, but you know, I can think of loads of examples where bands don't always make the best decisions.

"Overreaction MUCH?"

no I genuinely don't think it is, like Bill Hicks' view of musicians who let their work be used on adverts, I say it means you have no integrity and you're more interested in cash than being taken seriously and producing good work

"Actually, you can. I went to see The Wonderstuff at my old teenage hang-out with some very old friends. It was blissful. Like a day hadn't passed."

Look in the mirror, look at miles hunt, where was the bass thing?

time passes, accept it. it's no bad thing. Remember when the wonderstuff were young and relevant (well, sort of). Do you remember how you felt about those 40 yar olds around you going to see some ropey joke band from the late 70s?

"I'm going to go and see Primal Scream with my oldest friend from '91. Regardless if the band are crap WE will have a good time."

precisely, even if the band are crap, you'll have a good time (and I genuinely hope you do) the music is incidental to the memories and your mates.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I think. It's bit like us doing exactly the same job. It's nostalgic, it's probably quite enjoyable, but ultimately it's artistically bankrupt. Pretty much any band that do loose the right to call themselves artists in my eyes.

Now I love screamadelica, was an amazing influential album for me. I got offered tickts for this and turned them down, it just don't feel right. You can't recapture your youth, let it go and enjoy the memories. Never go back....

    • Skylink is 24 hours... But the skylink will drop you off at Pegasus business Park or EMA (East Midlands Airport) where you'll have to use the Download shuttle link, which isn't 24 hours. The last shuttle from the Download transport hub to EMA is 12:15 TrentBarton / Local bus info here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/download2026   Skylink Derby / Leicester / Loughborough timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/skylinkderby  Shuttle timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/userfiles/hotel.pdf If you miss the shuttle, which is very doubtful, you'll just have to find another way to EMA / Pegasus business park, maybe a taxi. You could even walk to EMA from the Download transport hub, wouldn't take too long. Just make sure you use the airport's 'circular path' instead of the dangerous roads.  I walk the circular path often, it's nice and easy. I would post instructions but I very much doubt you'll miss the shuttle, and if you do, it isn't hard to work out. The footpath is clearly signposted from directly opposite / across the road from where the download map has labelled "Pickup and Drop Off Exit."
    • So for Harry Styles it was actually a plastic bag that basically blocks the view of the front and back cameras. You can still use the phone screen. It's much easier than using lockers, especially for people leaving for the last train etc    I think it's basically reliant on the threat of security kicking you out if you start filming.
    • Hey, does anybody have a joining link for the WhatsApp group plz? I know the secret sets get posted there but have a new phone and number
