The Tron soundtrack is an awesome piece of work. How well it will translate to touring I'm not sure but they can bring their game from the other three albums so it won't be a problem.

It's a cracking album but be prepared for it not sounding like a Daft Punk album. I think alot of people were expecting a fourth Daft Punk album where this is nothing like it. It's a film soundtrack and as a film soundtrack it's pretty good.

To all the Wireless poo pooers...consider this...

view the Daft Punk show as a gig with a lot of support acts attached to it quite simply. Of course it isnt a true festival, it's more like the Foos gig at Milton Keynes or the big Prodge show this summer. Wireless is just a big corporate party in a reasonable size field/park and if you go to the London one, London festival goers are generally very nice people indeed and its a brilliant party. It's just for a few hours, its certainly not on the scale or bad behaviour like V and you can get the last train home or find a decent club to head to afterwards. One day fests in London are excellent in this way.

I went to the Wireless back in 07 and the DP show was and still is in my all time Top 3 shows I have ever seen. The audience totally went off and were blown away by the stunning presentation, stage set up and light show.

I cannot bloody wait for the date releases of whatever shows they will do. My money is on Wireless, Global, possibly Rockness and as 5co77ie is hinting, Benicassim. Glade is on the same weekend as Rockness but I highly doubt they will be able to convince DP to play there. Glastonbury would be beyond incredible though.

Daft Punk are playing a festival in Spain (but it's not Benicasssim) as The Third Twin or TTT.

Daft Punk will be performing songs that Disney refused to pair the soundtrack to Tron: Legacy so are renamed to air these tracks, which themselves are closer to their own electronic sound, rather than the film. The album will be titled 'Homemade'.

I've got The Third Twin album. Doesn't sound ANYTHING like the the Tron soundtrack to be considered rejections by Disney IMHO. If it is indeed DP, then it is surely more likely a leak of unreleased rarities, or indeed a new album. Seems to have their usual vocalist on a couple of the tracks.

Story

The theory continues:

“Daft Punk, disappointed by the severe restrictions of the contract, decided to introduce their songs to their public who would appreciate this music. They used The Third Twin brandname to avoid legal troubles. This theory is reinforced with the events that took place in 2005 when the album Human After All was leaked on the Internet, weeks before its release.”

Another theory says:

“… that this is not a Tron Legacy´s leak, this is the new Daft Punk album studio leak. Daft Punk has made only three major works (not counting remixes) each with an interval of five years. The idea of a joint launch of the soundtrack to Tron Legacy and the fourth studio album by Daft Punk to the end of 2010 is more than just a theory”

And one last one, for the kids:

“Another theory argues that all this are unpublished songs of previous works by Daft Punk which subsequently leaked intentionally to deny them and give a great impetus to the promotion of the movie. This theory is less usual, Daft Punk avoids the commercialism.”

i'n not convinced, it's almost as if this act are hyping themselves by not denying they are DP

all i care about is seeing DP soon in whatever form materialises

i have to side with the doubters here. those tunes sound like a bad DP pastiche, and the back story is barely believable. im calling shenanigans.

and if i'm wrong, then it sounds like the 'new' DP album will be worse than Human After All, and that was pretty bad.
