its been the dryest spring ever which must help a bit

unfortunately there's been more than enough rain in the last month to undo all of that, at ground level anyway - the top of the ground is more than wet enough already to churn up very easily once it has thousands of feet thromping across it and it rains again (which all the forecasts say it will).

dry, bright and windy in Pilton, washing has gone out. Ground is wet but the drainage on site is good. Agree with Neil, it won't be dry but it is largely irrelevant what the weather is if you are determined to enjoy the finest festival on the planet.

well up in the north west I don't think we've had two consecutive days of sunshine since april... I'm hoping by your post that it hasnt been the same in pilton! I know the east has been getting great weather, but didnt think somerset was .

What's important here is not whether there is mud, but where there is mud and how quickly it dries out. I think there's every chance that favourite sit-down spots at bars and stages will be sit-down able for the majority of the festival, e.g. late thursday/friday onwards.

Nowt we can all do about it now folks, if there ever was ;) SO let's just PARTY! :D

I don't know about you all but I am sick to the back teeth of my compulsion to check the weather every 5 minutes. From now on I am just going to look out of my tent each morning and take it from there.

The GFS 06Z is coming through now... Only a risk of occasional light showers until about 3am on Friday night\Saturday morning. The big band of rain that was originally pushing into the north is now projected to make landfall in South Wales... if it comes much further south, it could be a direct hit on the site.

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
