So, I haven't been about for a while, sadly my dad died weigh in day November 3rd :( On top of that weightwatchers have changed the way we work out points and renamed them I'm gonna get in a mess with these new propoints I just know it!

Lost 3lb since last weighing in so total loss now 5 Stone 8lb only 6lb to lose to make a total of 6 stone, which I though was going to be achievable before Christmas but with comfort eating and the Pro Points arrrgghh! I have my doubts :(

So very very sorry to hear your sad news sad.gif You have done brilliantly - cut yourself some slack and don't be disppointed if those 6lbs hang around a while - you know you can do it - you are perfect proof of that!

((((((hugs)))))))

Thanks and {{{{{{Big hugs back}}}}}}}

I use e source so actually working the pro points out not a problem, just I have done WW so long I knew the points of everything, so it was easy, now it's hard work until I learn the new points of everything! I could normally pick it up quicker but my head is so full of sad unhappy stuff my brain doesn't take it all in right now :( Thanks honey and get you 4.5lb 1st week!! well done xx

I know that you have had great results so far with WW and I do think you should stick with it - for me, WW would confuse the hell out of me - i'd be fine with ready meals etc with the points counted for me etc, but i'd fall apart if I had to start working them out!

If you are finding it tough going at the moment because of other much more important life events and you really feel like you don't want to fall off the wagon perhaps it would be an idea to either stick to plain old basics of calorie counting which you may be able to work out easier until you are in a better place - or go easy on yourself and switch to maintaining. We can be our own worst enemies when we are trying to lose weight and we can be exceptionally good at setting ourselves up for a fall. Its taken a long time for me to get my head around the fact that I didn't pile a shit load of weight on overnight therefore i'm not going to lose it overnight either and that sometimes life does get in the way, whether that be happy or sad life events - and that that is OK too

I think you have done amazingly well not to just say 'feck it' and go completely off plan - you have more willpower than me chick

DVJJ, big hugs to you at this time hun. The most important thing is to take care of yourself, WW will always be there when you are ready.

I have fallen off the wagon big time :( I have lost 9lbs in total since September with SW, which doesn't seem that much to be honest. I am struggling with the chocolate and now that the weather has turned the thought of snacking on an apple has lost it's appeal. Also I am starting a new job tomorrow, this involves me travelling between different offices all day so I won't have a set routine. I wil make soup and stick it in a flask (god that is soooo old!) but I need more ideas. Can anybody on hre help byt giving advice and a kick in the pants :(

I am 2lb off 6 stone with one weigh in before Xmas on Wednesday, don't think I am going to make the 6 stones lost by Christmas but I am not going to beat myself up about it, in many ways it gives me a goal for January as I am bound to put a couple of pounds on over the festive season so will be celebration time in January!!

Thank God for that felt very alone there! I have to admit I am struggling but I am not defeated, "I can and I will" is my Mantra! I also wantto lose two stone by June which seems a monutain at this stage, hopefully some warm weather will allow more walking!!

I'm doing alright, not visited McD's or KFC this year, definitely eatng more fruit & veg, much less crap. Not got any scales though, so no idea if I'm losing weight, but feeling better. I'd love to do more exercise, but can't afford a gym and too cold to go running/ go out on a bike. However, overall, I'm pretty pleased.

Cejx - Come on, You need to repeat my mantra a few times. I can and I will...

Well done Mardy.

Me, well what can I say?... Gutted is how I feel, behaved all week, walked to and from work the three days I was in, fought of a sore throat in bed for two days but much as I wanted to comfort eat I didn't, drank no alcohol barring a glass of red wine with Sunday roast which had NO roast potatoes on it so I could have the wine and guess what???? Gained 1lb!! I could have cried WTF!!! I feel about as low as I can go (or I did at 7:45am on the scales left the church hall close to tears) since then i have cheered up repeated I can and I will two thousand times and decided it's not going to beat me!! Onwards and Downwards as Fairy said!!

Di you've done amazingly well - no oustoundingly well over the last year, and nearly 6 stone gone. Looking at the photos of you you are looking amazing, and I doubt you have 1 stone more to lose, let alone 2 stone... have you thought that you may be near a natural weight for you .... give yourself a break, and stop beating yourself up

Try for anotherr 7lb and then see how you feel - maybe you are depriving yourself too much, and then it's a viscious circle

Are you doing old or new points? If old ones have you thought about the Wendy plan where you do one day really low points, next day high etc which tries to shake the body up a bit. If you're on new points maybe they don;t work for you and it's back to old points for you

Whatever Di don't give up totally but do give yourself a bit of a mental break

Take care hun

Phil

Going to the gym? Any idiot can do that. Going to the gym and listening to your MP3 player? Any idiot can do that. Going to the gym, listening to your MP3 player and being so lost in the music you start singing, throw your arms in the air and fall backwards of a tread mill? That takes a level of special.

    • No worries, it's a perfectly fair question to ask. I would expect people to be talking at the back & near the bars & that is where I would want them to be talking. If your group are enjoying yourselves & the music & briefly chatting to say how much you are loving a certain song etc, you would be an ideal group to stand behind.   My issue is with people having full blown conversations (usually unrelated what is on the stage) whilst being surrounded by people who are trying to listen to the music. This was happening in the middle and towards the front of all stages, & so you have limited options to move around & you may have spent 20 minutes waiting for the band trying to get the closest position that you can. If there's a group of 8 people, there may be 2 or 3 that like the band & the rest will start talking if the music isn't their thing. This may be the norm now for festivals, and if it is, that's ok & I will focus on a band's own gigs & UK based new music festivals.    I'm also not including consequences of my own decision making. I saw Geese on Wednesday so went to Occident after Men I Trust finished so it was understandable there would be chatting that far back. Similarly, getting to The XX after Olivia Rodrigo along with most of the site, I knew my chance of a good spot & a chat-free zone had gone so that was completely reasonable.   PS. I went to Bilbao BBK in 2023 & 2025 & enjoyed it. For Pulp & Kylie in 2025, I got a position early & was surrounded by a respectful & fun crowd for both. The UK non-headlining bands tend to go on the undercover 3rd stage, & most people like to congregate outside so you can usually get close to the front of that stage.
    • Interview on 6 music earlier, was going to get the album to have a listen, but comes out the day they play the festival
