Hey all!

Can I join in please?

I have ideally 4 stone to lose although i'm realistic and would be happy with less than that, say 3, by the time Glasto comes around. I'm going on the Tony Ferguson diet but keep putting it off cos i cant bear the thought of not having a cuppa tea (lame i know lol). Anyone else on it? I've been unwell, extreme migraines so not been able to exercise and am aware of the amount of walking that Glasto entails so need to crack on with a fitness routine shortly as well. A friend is taking me to zumba next week to sweat my ass off (hopefully.

Hey guys, fairly new to the forum but have been reading for a while, & it seems a lot of people have done superb trimming down for Glasto so well done to you all!

For me, I would deffo like to lose a few pounds. By all means, I'm not massively overweight but it would be great to lose half a stone maybe so I'd feel a bit better about myself. I'm 21, at uni in my 3rd year & still live at home with my parents but would say my guilty pleasure is sweets. I had to quit the gym when I originally left home in my 1st year, so didn't do much exercise. Moved back home in my 2nd year, & did the odd jog. But that has stopped, but have been cycling lots over the summer. I don't really have time to go to the gym & would never go to Weightwatchers etc. It's difficult also over meals with mum cooking, so any simple tips to start would be great? Been riding to work and around town which is a start I guess.

Alcohol is full of empty calories as are sweets if you can give up both and eat some fruit you'll notice a difference in a very short space of time. Ask your Mum to try to avoid frying and any creamy sauces or buttery things, try to make sure you have some cereal in the morning it will kickstart your metabolism and make you less prone to grabbing a sugary or choclatey snack around mid morning. good luck xxx

Cheers for the advice, despite being a student I don't tend to drink that much (other on nights outs which are few & far between nowadays). I've indeed set myself a challenge to not drink from my sister's wedding (29th August) to New Years Eve - and so far, so good. Not a drip. Saving me a heck of a lot of money too :]

Have a new love for pineapple, but there's quite a lot of sugar in the cheaper tins(?). Do need to start having more fruit though - considering I work in the fruit&veg aisles for Tesco lol.

Good point on the breakfast, do tend to not have breakfast from time to time. Especially now I'm back at uni. Butter is a hard one though with my toast mmm!

Will give it a try although I really do feel anything low fat automatically equals bland and tasteless. Just the other day I bought some low fat humous and it was utterly foul and went straight in the bin

Ingredients

2 oz tahini, sesame paste

1 teaspoon ground cumin

2 clove garlic, Crushed

3 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon Olive Oil

200g Canned chick peas, Drained

Blitz it all up with a food processor if it is a little thick add some water as the 1 tablespoon of oil is probably not quite enough to soften you can always up the garlic or add some roasted red pepper, use your imagination you'll have all differnet types made!

Managed to take off the 2lb I put on whilst in The Canaries, so back at 73lb loss, another 2lb and I get my 75lb certificate, I have started wondering could I be the WW of the year in my class? Must ask Pauline the leader... :)
