Vieuphoria
Lol at the person who said soundgarden to headline. I wouldnt even say they are big enough these days to headline download, more than likely they would sub.
choadus
I think its about time Biffy were given a chance at headlining.

micawber
Wrong. If Arcade Fire can headline, so can Soundgarden. If Blink-182 can headline, so can Soundgarden. If Rage Against The Machine can headline, so can Soundgarden. If The Smashing Pumpkins can headline, so can Soundgarden. If Pixies can headline, So can Soundgarden.... etc etc etc etc etc
Role Model
Yeah I honestly can't see Soundgarden headlining the main stage now, although not impossible, i'd class it as highly unlikely.
Vieuphoria
You're letting your heart rule your head. Whilst never impossible, I think it more likely that they would headline NME a la Manics, FNM, Ash, LP, etc unless they chose to sub a headlining band that they respected. jump
I'm not at all. One of the biggest names of the Grunge era (and the festivals "golden era" to most one woudl assume).... Have co-headlined before. If Audioslave can get 3rd on the bill, and Rage can headline.... So can Soundgarden. Soundgarden in a tent would show just how low this festival is sinking. When a band like Blink can headline... sickening

Yellow_Fellow
Yeah with Download's Andy Copping saying he'd already like to get SoaD as headliners, Benn would have to book for them as headliners. I'm seeing WEEZER | LOSTPROPHETS | SYSTEM OF A DOWN

Vieuphoria
I think Soundgraden can headline but a stretch, but you can't compare then to Blink & Rage as they are we're both still popping up regularly on alternative radio & TV music channels despite the break up and still getting new fans during that time. VCK
Show me one fan of music who has not at least heard Black Hole Sun. Plus Spoonman, Rusty Cage, Jesus Christ Pose are all played semi regularly on music channels and alt radio stations. I really don't think it's that unfair of a comparison. All bands where huge, sold millions and broke up. It's kinnda like selective history, Blink 182 as they are more recent, but SG who were one of the band responsible for the biggest revolution in music of the past 2 years... no no no nooo.. Guys please stop predicting SG for NME. SG are not going to play full stop. But if you will predict them, predict for Headlining main, or subbing main, NME just wouldn't happen. Vieuphoria
Thats my point. They aren't goimng to play Reading because they will 100% be offered headline slots for places like Download or Soni. So why would they sub Reading. The point is they won't headline NME, if they do play Reading it will be high main, if they don't get that they'll headline elsewhere. Smally
Is Morrissey headlining the NME too far fetched? If not, you heard it here first
