Erm.. Ok, I've just read all the lyrics and I'm not quite sure how but I'm not saying you're not right.

That's not the point though, the lyrics are fine and most artists try to make a point through their lyrics. But how is having massive gaps between the songs proving a point? How is not introducing your guests proving a point, how is having a Lebanese pan-pipe band play for 10 minutes proving a point? How is not having the bass or drums turned up loud enough during Stylo proving a point? Hhow is Bobby Womack not knowing when he's supposed to be singing proving a point? And how is playing way too much stuff that very few people know proving a point?

Lyrics are one thing, but how is Damon trying to prove a point by playing a disjointed and under-rehearsed set?

Went to the pub yesterday with friend who went to glasto and some that didn't

Friends girlfriend who did not go

"Did you see Gorrilaz at Glasto , I watched them on TV and they were terrible really bad"

Friend who watched them live "actually I thought they were ok"

Friends girlfriend "no I am telling you they were terrible up until they end when they got better, were they on the main stage"

Me "yes"

Her "uuurgh" (this annoyed me..)

Not sure what point I am trying to make here but it does seem nowadays people only want to hear stuff they know or can sing along to otherwise they find it boring or dont get into it or give it a chance. It should have been pretty obvious what sort of show and setlist to expect and it was never going to be sing along hands in the air spectacular. I suppose the fact the The Flaming Lips where on the Other Stage who are not as well known by the majority in the UK made for a bigger crowd for Gorrilaz also.

For the record I went to see the Flaming Lips (I would say I know about 2 of their songs) followed by Sasha (knew about 4 tracks he played) and had a great time!

I wouldn't say they were bad but on the strength of that performance they just weren't up to the job. On a side note I wonder if age is a factor as everyone I spoke to who was under 30 were very positive about the performance and everyone over 30 were at best indifferent.

Jesus tapdancing Christ, are you lot still on about this?

Some people liked Gorillaz, some people didn't, some people didn't even go and see them. It's a music festival (i.e. there is always LOTS on) and they were a replacement headliner - it's really not worth arguing about weeks after the event.

As I have said elsewhere I thought they were great and can't wait to see them in Manchester. Not only did they bring most of the guests, they stepped in at the last minute. It was a shame there was no Mos Def (walked away from T&J at the Park doh!)and that probably through them a last minute curve ball.

I think it would do a few people to remember that nobody is responsible for your good time but you.

why are people so impressed with guests just for the sake of them being guests. I was with a friend who was positively frothing at the mouth at the prospect of Lou Reed, and I was thinking, here's a singer who's not particularly fondly remembered for his great voice, who will get up, talk his way through something, and go...

which is what he did

I love the irony of going on about people going on and arguing about whether people should be arguing. It takes a special level of committment to go into a thread to offer an opinion that basically says people shouldn't be offering an opinion. But with about 350 days to go, what you rather people talked about?
