Anyone get searched going in

On Thursday going into site from cv fields at Gate C I had my whole bag and belongings searched. Every nook and cranny in my purse, and every pocket in my bag.

The security lady said she would let me take in my hip flask, but keep it hidden, as she thought it contained glass - it wasn't a flask I explained it was a steel hip flask so she apologised

She truely searched absolutely everything - all she found was my pot of fairy sparkle dust which she laughed at as I explained a girl needs glitter !!! I saw lots of people night and day with the same happening- what happens if they find something ? Anyone else get searched ?

I didn't but I saw a couple of people having their belongings searched on the way in. I assume it's just random, I did get searched last year, but when I arrived there was no queue at all so they probably just wanted something to do. All they found were my medications, I explained what the tablets were and the supervisor was fine with me taking them in. Mind you, I didn't have anything on me that isn't allowed or illegal so there was no problem for me anyway.

Oh yeah.. i was in the campervan field, they emptied out my little rucksack - took out all my beers and everything, they searched every pocket in there except the one with my spliffs!

They would just take it off you and let you in unless you turned up a la Pablo Escobar. In that case they would probably call the 5 0.

from what I've seen of searches - bit of dope and it's a slapped wrist, taken off you and you're let in - anything stronger and they've been marched off - so presumably not let in?

We weren't searched this year but last year we had the girl from hell (just to top up the day from hell - tidy) - weren't taking in anything illegal, she tipped out every bag, Asked me if I had any glass - No was my reply. Emptied out my makeup bag and there was a 5cm by 2cm mirror superglued to the inside of an eyeshadow compact (I genuinely didn't think of this) -

"well, this is glass - so you lied....what else are you lying to me about?"

"Eh?"Says me (knackered and just a little stressy - its midnight and we've been on our way for 13 hrs at this point)"Nothing....sorry I hadn't considered that as 'glass', my apologies"

"ok, empty out the rest of the bags there....everything...you are a liar"

Me: "ok, enough now, no need to be like that, we don't have anything else we shouldn't"

Her "Dont believe you, you are liar. Empty. Now"

Emptied out all bags as alternative option was fighting the urge to smack her one - serously she was a grade a biaaatch and was constantly making snotty comments.....report followed to her supervisor (I know the stewards deal with a lot, most do a great job - but there is NO NEED for her be such a total cow about it) - apology followed soon after. Was dreading entry after that this year but sailed through no checks at all

Yep - we got pulled in. Told my Scouse OH not to open his mouth (he didn't) but we got pulled in anyway. We were totally clean not even any glass -my make up mirror was stainless steel. We had a trolley and couple of rucksacks, when the OH offered up his rucksack for searching I could see the guy roll his eyes - he really didn't want to go through everything just random checks. He did go off duty immediately after so I guess he was he wasn't wanting to prolong things.

I got searched upon re-entry on wednesday after I took a second treck back to West Car Park 42 to get a couple of belongings.

It was fine as I think they guy stereotyped me as I have long ginger hair and I was wearing my GF's hat. He searched both my bags, including inside my gf's little camera bag and asked what was in there. Then he complained about having to put everything back in the bags LOL

Then just as I was about to walk away he goes 'mind if you empty your pockets' so I did. He literally inspected my wallet, phone and a little envolpe I had in my pocket which I had forgotton to use to hide money in my car. That was all fine. Then just as i'm about to walk off again he goes 'mind if I give you a quick frisk' and thhat happened ok and he politely goes 'sorry about wasting your time, sir' .

I was fine about it, I realise they have to do their jobs but its a bit of a pain when you don't have anything on you.

Never been searched going in ever One of our crew did a year back and had her mirror confiscated... the same mirror she brought down there in a previous year. Smuggling contraband in is a relatively simple task though if you put your mind to it, as one person has stated on here already, 'change the state of your drugs'. Just be grateful that they don't employ sniffer dogs on entry as you'll need another queue just for those found in possession. This year whilst in the queue from hell on Gate D (Why oh why didn't I go with my gut instinct and head towards gate A) there was a guy in front of us who was searched and they found his gear (weed by the looks of it) in his shoes, that was promptly confiscated and he was sent on his merry way presumably to find his nearest friendly Dealer McDope.

Now, if this was 20/25 years ago I would have been pulled straight away primarily because of what I looked like. My mate got searched as we were coming back in on Thursday after would gone to get our booze. We both had rucksacks full of cans and as they security were putting the cans back in his bag and helping him put his rucksack back on two fell out, one split and started spraying soaking the security, it was hilarious

Now, if this was 20/25 years ago I would have been pulled straight away primarily because of what I looked like. We were in the Camper field so in and out every day. On the Wed night they didn't give us a pass out which resulted in a queue to get in of 15 mins or so, get to gate to be told we had to have one. Despite having our tix. Back up hill of death, over an hour and a half of queuing and questioning, phone calls made to See to ascertain we were who we said we were (all while we were wearing our wristbands and in possetion of our tix). Anyhow, 2 scraps of paper later and we thought we'll get to the efests football after all. Join queue and OH immediately pulled over to security. Asked for his ticket, which I had still in queue.

I give it to him and offer up my bag too but they say no.

Absoloutely pull his bag apart and contents. Camera battery area, wallet etc. He was asked several times to disclose any drugs as they had an amnesty policy. If you give them up, no questions and in you go, however, if you deny and they are found the police are called.

He said no many times and had a very thourough pat down, underarms, round neck everywhere. At this point we were worried as he has weed in his pocket. The security guy didn't find it, obviously OH didn't empty it with the rest of his pocket contents.

Happy he was clean, his attentions then turned to me, despite my previous offer. I was questioned over my sealed and logo'd immodium and ibuprofen. Camers etc opened but no pat down as maybe there was no lady available?

We brought nothing in there after.

buy a 4 wheel truck stack it right up wIth you and all youR mates gear , I mean make it fookin massive , then when you walk passed the storm troopers they think f**k THAT IM NOT GOING THROUGH ALL THAT SHITE
