The bloke in front of me at ticket check entrance approaches wearing sun glasses and hat, hands his ticket over , and the young female ticket checker is not convinced it is his face ,so asks him politely to remove his sunglasse...she is still not convinced,....and at this point, i think that she is going to give him the benefit of the doubt to avoid any hassle. instead , she takes the ticket to her supervisor, who , after inspection takes him by the arm and explains that he is to be escorted off the site.

WOW! ... this was my first Glastonbury, and reading through various posts, i was led to believe that security were very lax with photo ID .

Unfortunately for this guy, his feet hardly touched the ground.

Did anyone else witness anything similar ?

I had a wonderful time by the way... was overwhelmed by the scale,.. met an awful lot of very nice people, saw some absolutely brilliant performances , drank way too much.....oh...and i look like i've been in the south of France for a fortnight.

I was told about a couple of lads with no wrist-bands trying to get a "pass out" on Wednesday with "their" tickets. The security people thought it was funny, as when the lads were asked what their names were, they couldn't "remember" their surnames. How amusing! Security felt the tickets must have been stolen, but couldn't understand why, since they'd managed to get in, why they wanted to draw attention to themselves.

Got the feeling that more attention was paid this year - first entry in, when I asked about how much my picture was looked at, I was told it was because so many tickets had sold on ebay. Seems to have caught some people out though.

Having gone in and out a few times to take stuff to and from the car, they did definitely seem to be a lot more attentive with checking photos this year. Even to the point of targeting people wearing sunglasses/hats etc, and making them remove them.

I was in my tent and overheard a girl saying "i normally do it for £50".

I assumed she was talking about drugs. Then she went on........"yeah, I do it for £50 a person, but I will get them in for a donation"

By the time i had got out of my tent she had gone. I can only assume she was a worker and had the opportunity to get people in. Scum!

We were in family camping by Ped A and on the Friday a family of 12!!! Were evicted off site. Someone next to where they were setting up, someone noticed none of them had wristbands, called security and off they went. Was very funny, they looked totally pissed off.

Also saw someone failing to get in with an eBay ticket at gate D on Wednesday.

I met lots of people who had bought wrist bands offsite over the weekend and come in with no ticket though. A friend works in a pub in glastonbury and bought one off a scouse bloke on sunday morning for a clean shower and a cold pint of stella :D

The girl who did my wristband (i.e. after my ticket had been checked) was asking everyone 'do you have an alternative form of ID at all?' She asked me and I told her I did, but not in a place I could easily access. I told her did have ID but as my wallet was in the bottom of a bag full of stuff and I'd just queued for 5 hours in the burning sun and I am a genuine ticket holder and we had no obligation to show ID as my face is my ID I was buggered if I was unpacking it just to get my ID out and did she have a problem with my ticket (yes, I was in a foul mood by then...) and she said no, she didn't have a problem but she'd been asked to ask for ID as they were worried about tickets that had been sold on eBay. However at no point did she ask me to remove my hat or my sunglasses... <_<

We only went out once, which was to take the stuff back to the car on Sunday morning, I noticed that on the way back in the steward seemed to pay alot more attention to the ticket and pass out than in previous years. And it was the first year I've had the loose-ness of my wristband checked aswell.

I had to go down the route of entering on someone else's ticket as I had returned mine but then ended up not working at the fest. I was a little concerned but went up to the friendliest looking steward on arrival, I did have a lot of glitter eye make up for a bit of a disguise but had excuses ready if questioned.

The return trip on Thurs was a bit more rigorous but my final return trip after an early Sunday car run, I was told I was very photogenic in my pic! Result!

I sorted my mate out back in October, i didnt have a picture of him from then, so i used one from 2008, and everytime he went through the gates, the stewards were in stitches, in fairness, it was a shockingly bad picture, even he got ripped by his Family!
