2nd Glastonbury World Cup

PS: The World Cup may be all over bar the shouting but it's never too late to bung a few quid in Mr WaterAid's direction to help continue his most excellent work around the world. Your tiny 'sacrifice' of not having a couple of extra pints and not visiting the bog a couple of extra times this coming weekend is pretty much guaranteed to make someone somewhere in the world *very* happy indeed. And there might just be a li'l something a bit kinda like a shiny round metal thingy with a pin on the back winging it's way to you to say thanks into the bargain :) Watch this space and all that but there is more than the merest hint of a possibility that a very small number of shiny round metal thingies looking something a bit kinda like this:

will be up for grabs hopefully sometime very soon(ish). I'm still waiting on authority (or otherwise) to officially use the piccy I 'borrowed' and tweaked for the background ... although I might perhaps be getting a bit bored with waiting and dish them out anyway if I don't hear something kinda soon and all that as I'm feeling sooooo naughty today  Must say that the bag full of shiny new round metal thingies that I have sat in front of me do look particularly handsome tho so it would be rude not to give them away eventually and it's a d@mn fine piccy Mr.Tim5025 so please say "yes" real soon :)

The post-festival WaterAid review has recently appeared on The Official Glasto Site ... and all you fine peeps who were involved in some way or other with the Glasto World Cup get a shout :D Well done chaps B) Nice result and all that ... well, apart from the RoW getting a royal stuffing (again) bit anyway ! Why couldn't all you Eng-Er-Landers have been complete cr@p like you were in the inferior looky-likey World Cup game on Sunday :P

EDIT: D'oh ! Chaz beat me to it with a shiny new thread while I was spending half a lifetime hunting out the most recent GWC thread to post this on. Never mind, news so good that it totally deserves being said twice and all that !

    • Thanks so much - that's very helpful. Someone else mentioned getting a train from Loughborough to East Midlands Parkway, and then a festival shuttle from there to the site. I think they were then going to come back on the Skylink Derby to Loughborough - I assume this is because the trains don't run as late as the Skylink, otherwise they would just come back the same way they came?! Is the transport hub a long way from the main stage? Just wondering what time I would need to leave Linkin Park to be sure of getting a shuttle. As I say, I am sure it will all be clear on the day, even after a few beers! Just hope the rain stays away...
    • I really don't think they would put Olivia Rodrigo on Occident stage. If it was her, they would put her in earlier Mordor slot and move Big Thief or Little Simz to Occident.   Fontaines DC are more probable, but don't really match the hype. However, again, if the hype was real, the artist would end up in Mordor.   That being said, I would love to see Fontaines DC tonight.
    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
