Last year we had all the same thing, AC/DC even self confirmed, Andy himself PROMISED the announcement would be before Xmas as they wanted people to be able to buy tickets for presents, what happened?

They put the tickets on sale for Xmas only without any announcement and then took them back off sale until the launch.

Hope they learnt from their mistakes this time around.

By the way those rumours are SWEET!

We are trying to guess here who is playing ???

We can make it a wee bit easier by working out who it is not...

It won't be

1. Peral Jam they have said that they are on an indefinite break for the next few years

2.s.o.a.d say it's too early to reunite after their break and serj has dates booked next year

My money is still on

3 headline acts for main stage

Friday-Soundgarden

Saturday-Iron Maiden or Metallica

Sunday-Van Halen

others as special guests will include

Scorpions as part of their farewell shows

Judas Priest say there are shows happening next year but would they take a special guest slot ?

Rob Zombie will be touring next year for the first time in ages ?

oh and if rumours might be true there could be a 1 off performance for the original Sepultura ?

Download just tell us something soon please

Pretty spot on id say. Tho ditch metallica as theyl be at Soni. but yes Soundgarden, iron Maiden and Van Halen are all very likely. Also Tool and Ozzy Osbourne are the other 2 in with big shouts of headlining. So 3 from 5. Although i dont think Ozzy solo would have the draw he once did do headline a big festival like Download.....So i think he'l be at High Voltage myself.

I think its gunna be what efests added this week

But im guessing in terms of whos on what day

FRIDAY ------------------------------ SATURDAY --------------------------------SUNDAY

Iron Maiden --------------------------Foo Fighters ----------------------------------Ozzy

Avenged Sevenfold------------Queens of the Stone Age----------------Rob Zombie

Machinehead---------------------------Biffy Clyro------------------------Black Label Society

Imagine that as a top three.

Would be sweet and very do-able IMO

tbh, whats interesting about festivals this year is that theres loads of bands that could go ethir way. for example foo fighters could easily play download, soni, reading or glastonbury (but i can't see them at sonisphere tbh).

i think foo fighters will be snatched up by reading though, i'm sure i've mentioned his love for the festival and it has been a long while since playing there.

i recon muse are a good contender, http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_tours/acdc_muse_foo_fighters_to_headline_download_2008.html

its from 2008 but i doubt the organiser has changed his view on them (even though the resitance is their weekest album)

i doubt iron maiden or ramstine will headline downlaod this year, considering the festivals share such a similar market it just dosen't seem right then again iron maiden are so massive i doubt anyone would care...

queens of the stone Age headling would be the greastist thing ever. i think it will depend on the success of their next album.

ozzy is an artist that could fall soni or download

linkin park are definetly a mash up between download and reading. i'd put my money on readign as its been longer since they've headlined it

unless there is a massive swing in popular interest i can't see mcr playing unless they headline a tent, apparently there headlining set went down like a shit in a bath.

if download book Gnr their fools. highly doubt it.

question to form:

are the red hot chillie peppers? can't decided if they'd fit the bill

could bullet headline? (i don't want them too, but their popularity has grown massivly...)

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
