That 35 million gone to your head? I'm not convinced by Carroll at all at present whereas I am by Wellbeck. As I said though, no point comparing until they've all had a bit of action.

You're missing the point. Neil said before any consideration of the new two strikers that Liverpool had a better side. I say otherwise.

Liverpool defo have a better 1st 11. As that better first 11 is getting to show by bdeing higher in the league than you, despite being absolutely doiabolical for the first 5 months of the season.

If Sunderland were even half as good as you're thinking then no team could come from near bottom to sail past you in less than a month.

We'll have to see how Gyan - Wellbeck gets on against Suarez - Carroll, but I'm just not convinced by Carroll at all.

And of course you're the expert, the man who doesn't know his team's name.:lol:

The very fact that you've got Welbeck on loan in the first place gets to show he ain't all that.

From the little I've seen of Wellbeck he does look good, he's almost incomparable to Carroll bar the fact that they're both at the starts of their careers, at the mo though I think Carroll is far more likely to 'effect' a match (if you know what I mean).

That's a much better argument. So you think that discipline is enough to get them above Sunderland?

what discipline? You can't have watched yesterday's match.

They have a formation that works and gets much more out of the players, but what it isn't is particularly disciplined. That side of things is yet to come, if at all.

... to go alongside our attacking flair.

You don't watch any football do you?:lol:

It's about 1930 since 'flair' was used correctly in relation to Sunderland.

Looks like Newcastle are trying to get round the transfer window by signing a new stiker who hasn't got a contract with Ewerthon (some Brazilian I've never heard of) & Jeremie Aliadiere top of the list.

that's not getting around the rules. I'd be surprised if they hadn't tried to do something like this.

at least give it a chance before you criticise it.

the whole f**king country has gone negative on everything even before plans are implemented, or even suggested.

get a f**king grip and give it a chance to see if it works, if it doesn't then at least you've tried to see if it works!

West Ham 'win' Olympic stadium bid

thats.going.to.be.a.great.place.to.watch.football

not

Supposedly, the furthest seat away from the pitch is 10 metres closer at the Olympic stadium than it is at Wembley, so it's perhaps not as all-round bad as some are thinking it is.

But of course from the other side, it's probably the case that the nearest seat to the pitch is 15 metres further away.

Some like to call him STB. More normal people call him Trevor Brooking. He has a job at the FA as Director of football. He's recently got a new sidekick, Gareth Southgate.

Now I'm not looking to have a pop at Gareth - he's had an impressive career as a footballer, and he can't be all that bad to walk straight into a managers job at the end of his career.

But has a man ever had a more unsuitable job title? The Football Association's head of elite development.

To me, the elite of football would be Barca, or in this country, Arsenal. It just seems so wrong to give a player who was as much donkey as skillful a title to do with "elite development".

That would only be true for know nothings that see only dribbling and step overs, etc as a skill.

the know nothing is the person thinking that I'm saying it's just that.

Know nothings that are too stupid to understand that reading of the game, defending, positioning, tackling, blocking, etc are skills in their own right, and just as important as the skills set an attacking player has.

the know nothing is the person thinking that I'm saying it's none of that.

Because of course the likes of Barca and Arsenal (named again cos I named them earlier) have none of these things, eh?:lol:

Gareth Southgate a donkey? Someone's a f**king retard. A know nothing retard.

The retard is the person who has said he's a donkey - that's you that is, just there.

(you like calling yourself a retard don't you? - that's twice in 2 weeks )

I said that he was "a player who was as much donkey as skillful". I also said "I'm not looking to have a pop at Gareth - he's had an impressive career".

The ONLY point of my post was to say that the job title sounds misplaced, and wrong. If anyone thinks of 'elite football', Gareth Southgate would be a long long way down anyone's list except perhaps his wife's.

f**king retard.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
