I dunno like, 92 was fairly politically charged unlike the apathy we see in abundance now.

It's f**k all to do with "politically charged", and everything to do with what language and actions are seen as acceptable within society.

Back in '92 there'd have been few people who would have had much fear about hitting on a work colleague, or being suggestive about them. The same is not true now.

Back in '92 the sort of sexism (particularly in regard to football) that Gray displayed would have been the absolute norm: woman's football had only been 'legal' for 20 years, it's life-span has now doubled.

Back in '92, the number of females with an interest in football - and so the number of people with an interest in the game - which would have been offended by such actions will have been significantly lower than it is now.

As ever, you're wildly factually wrong.

Not that I make a habit of agreeing with worm, but he's bang right on this. Sky Arts is one of the best channels there is IMO

So it might be (IYO). That doesn't alter the fact that it's remaking old format shows in a lower form.

And it's remaking those shows in a lower form because it only does lowest common denominator stuff.

In 92 you'd have been far more likely to have been burned for such things,

utter bullshit.

'92 was the height of the anti-feminist backlash, when the booking of strippers by student unions became prevalent again. How do I know? Because I was a part of the faction that tried fighting back that year, to little effect.

as the template for a brand of football that incorporated sexual equality was beginning construction under Sky.

utter bullshit.

It started at least two years earlier. It was prevalent at WC '90.

I reckon it's because Sky have adopted a relaxed culture and this has been the result.

I reckon it's because Sky is run by morons and bought by morons.

I know it's run by morons. I was interviewed by morons and offered VERY highly paid jobs by morons, who were told to f**k off because I wouldn't work for morons. :)

But that doesnt make it bad.

I didn't say it was 'bad', I said it's lowest common denominator stuff. And it is.

They put on the likes of Woodstock - shown a million times before - because they know there's an audience for it, not because it's worthy as pushing forwards as 'art'.

Ah ok. Well, they show a lot of old films/gigs etc, The Whos Kids Are Alright, Woodstock and the like. Not sure how much new shows they actually make. But that doesnt make it bad. Theres always something on worth watching, which is more than I can saw for any of the four ITV or BBC channels. Unless you like Taggart or trains.

Richard Keys has been hanging himself on Talksport for the last hour. He claimed responsibility for getting the female presenters their job. Richard ... shhhh

just had a munch in front of the TV, with Sky's "breaking news" being the story of how both Keys and Gray have made a full public apology.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
