Hartsons a pretty inspirational bloke but not sure he is managerial material. The candidates according to the media are

1. Giggs- Still playing and was never that committed anyway

2. Saunders - Done nothing at a conference team so why should he get the wales job.

3. Speed - Just got job so unlikely

4. O neil - Dream on, the wales job is only going to attract welshman and championship level managers

5. Coleman - Wouldnt be the worse choice, didnt do bad in the premeirship. Didnt inspire st coventry.

6. Jackett - Completely uninspiring

7. Flynn - Topped a group with france u21, tops a group with italy u21s. Has worked with the majority of players.

All common sense points to option 7 but common sense isnt what the welsh fa are known for.

Not really. I've always felt a much stronger affiliation with Arsenal than with England. 20 years ago when we didn't have that many foreign players over here and saw very little coverage of other european leagues, then at least the internationals were exciting as you got to see lots of new players. These days though we already know most/all of the players of the better teams and the general standard of most international teams just isn't as good as the top club sides now.

see that's the thing, it seems to be about quality for most folk. i dunno what it's like in england, but in scotland you have plenty of celtic and rangers fans who just don't care for the national team. think it's quite pathetic.

id' still support scotland even if livi were as good as barcelona.

As i've said before, i'd be far more inclined to "support" England, if it wasn't for our xenophobic media and fans. The drooling idiots draped in their St. George's crosses singing obsentities about other countries utterly ruins being an England supporter for me.

Hmmm ..... I think the media portrayal of what England fans supposedly are has got to you. Yes, there's some like that, but they're the minority. I suggest that you give INGERLAND by Mark Perryman a read.

As i've said before, i'd be far more inclined to "support" England, if it wasn't for our xenophobic media and fans. The drooling idiots draped in their St. George's crosses singing obsentities about other countries utterly ruins being an England supporter for me.

The thing with England is that we're expected to qualify for major competitions and so qualifiers aren't that important for the most part because it'll only be a suprise if we struggled to get results - when McClaren was in charge, the games against Russia, Croatia etc became massive.

Throughout the season it'll always be club over country until a major competition comes around, then I like to keep an eye on injuries etc.

Because its very annoying to have one of your influencial players injured in an international if you've got a big game at the weekend, especially a friendly.

I have absolutely no idea. I thought it was a draw until this morning.

I know they're the minority, but sadly they ruin it for me. When Englnd play the pubs are full of tw@ts that know nothing about football really; they head out, get drunk, smash thing up an generally make our games a nightmare to watch. While I normlly like watching games in the pub with a crowd, the "fans" that turn out for England games aren't the same bunch though.

True. The pub was packed last night, when it isn't anywhere near that full for the biggest Prem matches.

Pleasingly tho, my local at least was empty of arseholes last night - far better than for one of the WC matches where there was an arsehole who insisted on singing "10 German bombers..." every half hour.

I wouldn't mind so much if the moron could at least be historically accurate with what he sings.
