Well we got away with one yesterday. I missed most of the game, but saw the last 20 mins and then the highlights later. Very disappointed with the way we played against 10 men. Although Liverpool played very well, and challenged for every ball, we made it so easy for them. Turned inside at every opportunity rather than holding our width and stretching them. Fabregas and Van Persie will make a big difference when they're back, but it's going to be a few weeks before they're properly fit. Until then we've got to find a way to create more in the final third. As so often with last season, having the majority of possession means sod all if you don't make chances. I'm worried about Arshavin, he was very poor season last but with no world cup, I was hoping he'd be up and ready this time around. Sadly he looked woeful yesterday, and I worry that he's going to be a periferal figure far too often again.

As for the games big talking points, I think Cole was maybe a bit unlucky to see red. I think it was a 50:50 decision and with another ref he might have got away with a yellow. It was a stupid challenge though. I hear that they might appeal it, but can't see the decision being overturned. If it was i'd be very annoyed, as the second booking that Koscielny got was an awful decision that we can't appeal. How N'Gog got away with his lord alone knows.

Almunia again showed why he's just not up to the job really. He just doesn't inspire any confidence on crosses, and once again was beaten on the near post for the goal. That happens too often with him, even if it was a good strike yesterday. Did have to laugh at Riena's mistake, a pretty dreadful weekend for most keepers.

drogba's gonna be scary this year if he's being truthful with his whole 'first time i've been fully fit in 6 years' nonsense. lots of rumours (still) that we're announcing the neymar signing this week, guess that'll mean he'll take anelka's place

Shock horror, Man City dont want to strengthen their rivals!! Everyone knows as soon as man city get that top 4th place that everything is going to change dramatically. Assuming that manu and chelsea fill 2 of the top 4 that only leaves 2 spaces for man city to fight out with liverpool, arsenal and spurs so you can be sure they wont do any favours for these teams. Unfortunate as I dont like the thought of a great keeper like given wasting time on the bench.

Just to let you know in advance, when the Indian billionaire takes over at the Rovers, I will, again, be completely changing my opinion on the impact of foreign billionaire owners in the Premier league as it will clearly be an excellent thing

    • I really like the Cheap Thrills! I saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester in January at one of Chris Hawkins' "Awesome Friends" nights (which i think is why I even got tickets as it wasn't listed as a Cheap Thrills show!). Very good live and some great songs. I would've gone Saturday if I'd planned ahead!
    • They also seem to be in a mission to break the US with their new major label and this latest LP   Mid afternoon, live streamed on Disney+ is arguably a much bigger gig than Kendal Calling, if they had to skip one
    • This is massively exciting. I've been curious to who will be provide vocals for their live show and this is mega!
