It's odd how so many of them have only 1 feedback don't you think? In other words they've registered new accounts purely to shift each ticket. Also your claim that everyone has a pretty much equal chance of getting a ticket shows that you don't know how the purchase webpages have worked for the past few years - but I'm not going to go into details as I don't want to help even more of these touts to buy up the supply.

maybe I am being naive on both counts - I'd like to think that the people with limited feedback maybe just don't use eBay. With regard to the purchase webpages - it's handy to know a few tricks (eg click back and refresh instead of waiting in a queue) but I would have thought that See would have systems in place to prevent suspicious behaviour. It would be fascinating to survey everyone attneding this year and get a percentage of those who paid more than face value.

And I'm saying that there is absolutely no difference if the item is going to bring in over £300 either way.

I think the intent behind it is the difference. I'm pretty sure that although there are a fair few of them not all the sellers are touts, not all of them will have given the whole thing a massive amuont of thought and some will just chuck the ticket on ebay in the hope of making back some of their initial outlay.

One thing I think people need to bear in mind is that not everybody read these boards and therefore not everybody know that they will be able to sell on at a profit.

Imagine somebody who having bought a ticket believes that it's not worth anything due to the photo and decides to put it on open auction in the hope of recovering just some of the price if somebody is willing to take the risk.

I think too many people are seeing everything in this thread as black and white. There are many different scenarios.

What would appear suspicious to See Tickets? Each registration number buying one ticket? This being done in groups of four individual registrations at a time? None of that would flag up a problem to them.

Some on here seem to find this a difficult topic, it's really quite simple, there are 2 types of ebay sellers,

1. Selling a ticket for a profit I.E touting therefore scum (as this prevents genuine fans a chance of a ticket at the correct price).

2. Selling a ticket that they bought in good faith but now cannot use due to unforseen circumstances, the ONLY moral way of selling this is at face value with a promise to refund if the buyer does not get in with it, any can't / won't refund get out is wrong, the ticket is only worth the money if it can be used.

I think it's lovely that you're willing to hope for the best in people.

But I also think it's naive. These people know they're going to make £100 or more in profit.

Generally they're "fake" accounts set up specially. If the user has a high feedback and has sold other stuff, that's a clue that they might be genuine.

But it's also a clue that they're stupid -- because they'd be risking losing their eBay account and all those feedback points they've earned.

Just to clarify this issue then of the 34 tickets for sale at the moment, 32 people have feedback greater and 20 and some of them well into the hundreds and thousands.

The other 2 sellers have feedback of 0 + 1

So on this principle there are 32 genuine sellers and 2 touts. Fair enough I can live with that ratio

Rather than getting heated up over this I have just written to GFL asking in future that they rethink their refund policy i.e. people can return tickets once issued. That would save arguments all around and people in genuine circumstances will get their cash back.

It's now less than 2 weeks away, you should be looking forward to it, planning meet ups, and counting sleeps. etc.

Personally, I can't go this year (First I'll miss in 12 years) and it really hurts me that the people lucky enough to get tickets are sitting around bickering like this.

..or imagine somebody just sticking it on with no preconceptions and seeing what happens. Not everybody is as tech savvy and knowledgable about these things and I think some people are forgetting that.

Again i'm not defending the actions of some of these people just think there are shades of grey in the debate that people are glossing over.

Indeed, if you could get a refund up until the day then nobody would have any reason to sell their ticket on Ebay other than profiteering.

Of course, they'd have to find a way to sell these again at the last minute and get them into the buyers hands which wouldn't be easy.
