Incapable of realising that you are wrong = you are an idiot

Incapable of admitting that you are wrong = you are spineless

Although as they are not mutually exclusive conditions it is quite possible, and not at all unlikely, that you are both.

Oh yeah. Me calling you lot twats for this daft 18 page lynching party is immature, but you lot calling her "scum" and "a minger" for the heinous crime of making a few quid selling a festival ticket is, well, what exactly? Proportionate? Reasonable? Grown-up?

I am certain I'm not wrong though. = idiot claim proven once more, you've proven this one beyond any doubt now so there's no need to continue

Just like you probably are also. You my friend are spineless and an idiot = baseless claim, proves you are also immature and reinforces the self-proven idiocy

I would think that JamesHunt tried to offload his ticket but was met with a barrage of "You are scum" type comments that led to him seeing the light and becoming the number one toutbuster

I've made comment on this topic in the past quite a few times and I have sympathy for both sides. On the one hand I think all genuine touts should be rounded up and burned in front of the Pyramid Stage for all our enjoyment. on the other hand I don't think some of the people listing on ebay qualify as touts.

It's been mentioned loads of times on here so i'll not go into it in detail but touts are professional operations buying tickets with the sole intention of selling on at a profit.

The bit where there's a little grey area for me is the people trying to make a massive profit on ebay. I don't have problem with face value sales and don't even mind if somebody sets a reasonable reserve and people bid the price up well above face value. The issue for me and lot of others is people putting stupidly high buy it now prices and reserves on sales. Then I think they're taking the piss.

I know people have issues with not being able to offload their tickets after the refund deadline but if you can’t go due to a genuine reason then insurance would cover that. If you don’t have insurance you made your choice and should have to live with it. How many of the same people would contemplate booking a week in Spain without purchasing holiday insurance? Seems a no brainer to me as Glastonbury is my yearly holiday so I always treat it as such.

Personally I think the refund system in perfectly adequate and I don’t know of any other festivals that offer you the chance of a refund if you can’t go for whatever reason (though obviously these tickets can be resold freely). Michael Eavis has done practically everything to put in place a system that’s as fair as possible while still keeping in place the anti touting measures. I realise the deadline may be an issue for some people but it’s set when it is because that’s when the tickets are printed and sent out. If you offered refunds up until the week of the festival how many people do you think would apply for the refund and then turn up at the festival anyway? Free Glasto would be tempting to a lot of people I reckon!

Touting isn’t a major problem for Glasto anymore and to be fair I don’t think it’s likely to be again. The odd ebay sale is a drop in the ocean and not representative of the vast majority of ticket sales so I really don’t think there’s a great deal to worry about.

Anyway in closing I do think that some of the language used to refer to some sellers is a little over the top but it’s difficult not to appreciate the sentiment behind some of the things that are said. Glastonbury and the Glasto spirit means a lot to a lot of people and it grates to see this being exploited by some for personal financial gain.

That's just the kind of sensationalist nonsense I've come to expect from this forum.

Tomska isn't supporting touts (plural). We're talking about 1 person selling 1 ticket which presumably they bought because they wanted to go originally (we certainly have no proof otherwise). If you can't make the distinction then you're an idiot.

LOL. Really, you lot are priceless. Anyone who doesn't fall into lockstep with the lynching mob, screaming "Scum! SCUM! SCUM!" at some girl selling a festy ticket for a profit is a capitalist, obsessed by money, a tout-supporter, has more money than sense, etc.

Listen to yourselves. It's hilarious. Just because I deign to join your hate-train you make all sorts of stupid, childish assumptions about me and my world view. Get a grip.

Glastonbury to me is a beautiful place, full of beautiful people who just want to have a good time and forget work for a while, make new friends and be entertained for 5 days. It's about the food, the experiences, the sights, the sounds and occasionally about the music.

For some it's political, for some it's about a way of life, for some it's just about seeing U2. The point is that it means different things to different people.

I'm sure you have your opinions about "what Glastonbury is" but you have to understand that they are just that, your opinions.

If you can't see that buying a non-transferrable ticket to an event and subsequently selling it to the highest bidder is touting then you are the idiot. What volume of tickets is required in your dictionary to define touting?

I'd say any more than 1, 2 at a push (if one half of a couple couldn't go then the other half is most likely to not want to go).

Apologies for being so damn logical all the time. I know I must be making it difficult to argue with me without coming across as being a bit, well.... illogical, but I'm glad to see you're still giving it a go.
