Eavis' cant keep re-booking the same acts over and over again, so they got Shakira who like it or not is very popular in the music world, and is a Glasto virgin.

People whinge when the same acts are re-booked year after year, and then people whinge when a first timer is added. They cant win !!

I don't get why people are getting so outraged. How can this be any worse than Lady GaGa? Shakira's got a great reputation, really can sing and abides by the Glastonbury ethos more than GaGa/Kylie/Madonna ever will.

I think Glastonbury definitely has a place for pop artists. All sorts go to Glastonbury, so it's great to provide one or two pop artists who will appeal to the pre-teens going with their families or the types who don't really go to festivals. Doesn't affect the line-up as a whole and means there really is something for everyone.

i'm quite pleased with this booking tbh, i'd rather see her any day of the week then GaGa, if you don't like he... erm don't go?

she's got some catchy tunes, one of the most popular female acts of the past decade... so not really that much of a bad booking...

i may go see her depending on if i remember and cba but worth a look

Fantastic news! Like Kylie she's more than just pretty and I love her voice (more than Kylie's). Unlike Kylie she can play guitar and a bit of drums I think. Like Kylie she puts on a great show. Chill folks, it'll be great fun. Can't believe I'm thinking of missing the football!

I think its got to do with the 40 year expectations. I think people expected more "legends".........unrealistically maybe, but it was hyped up A LOT so maybe not as unrealistic as some make out;
