The Bootleg Beatles

Personally, I'd love to see them play earlyish on the Pyramid Stage, or maybe early evening in the Acoustic Tent?

Just don't let them headline anywhere on the Friday night because I don't want to miss U2.

They were amazing in 2007 along with 10 of my mates we missed the who to see them and it was superb saw them last year in Halifax and great again with all the costumer changes did 2 or 3 songs from each album through the decade fantastic!!!!

I thought maybe acoustic headline again but like the idea of first up on the pyramid :P

I saw them in the acoustic tent in 2007. They were fantastic. I hope they play the acoustic tent but that will probably mean a headline slot and a clash with U2 and that might make things difficult. What about putting them on before U2. The sunset :P and thousands singing along to Beatles classics. The atmosphere would be marvellous.

Somebody said better than Macca. Musically absolutely so, but for me the Macca headline set choked me up. I got very emotional. Everything I know about music basically started with them when I was very young. Lennon may have been cool but McCartney had the songs and that gig was all about the music and the history of music as we know it. The in between song banter however was very painful.

Problem with McCartney is that as soon as he went solo and John and George were no longer there to hold his hand. his output became utter utter shite.

Whereas John Lennon and George Harrisons solo work were fantastic.

Go figure.

His 2004 headline slot was tarnished for me by the amount of solo stuff he played, his appalling banter and that terrible haircut and dress sense.

Its really only the banter that annoys me. Its almost like he tries to be as insincere as possible, he doesnt I dont think, it just comes out that way.

Saw him in Dublin before Christmas, someone must have pulled him up about it because the banter has improved somewhat.

well whatever anyone says about McCartney (and I dislike the man, he appearance on X-factor and his endorsement of that awful rockstar computer game thing being the final nails in his coffin), his bellendness doesnt come anywhere close to the levels of ringo starr.

The phrase utter utter helmet was invented for that turd.

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
