Does anyone have any idea what stage/day/time he'll be playing

I don't have that info.

I'm 99.99% sure he's defo playing tho - the info I got about him playing Glasto also said about him playing Bestival - and with him at Bestival since confirmed, it's telling me that the info I've had about Glasto is good.

Cos someone has posted in this thread a few times that GSH has dates in the USA over Glasto and so won't do Glasto, I've been keeping the occasional eye on what dates are announced.....

And he's now got some dates confirmed in the USA in June, up-to 20th June ..... fingers crossed that they turn out to be the only ones.

Really disappointed if he's not playing. Like a lot of people on these boards, I'd heard of him but didn't really know much of his music. Having listened to quite a bit of his stuff now I was really looking forward to seeing him, oh well Still at least it's encouraged me to stick a few of his albums on my amazon wish list

For those interested in him, there is a really great article on Gil Scott-Heron titled "New York Is Killing Me" in the august 9th issue of The New Yorker. Interviewer talks about how over the course of the various meetings he has with Scott-Heron at his place in Harlem, he (Gil, that is) would get up and leave at intervals, first to go to his bathroom to smoke his crack, then being a bit more comfortable with 'the company' and going off to the kitchen, to finally just piping up right in front of the interviewer.
