what was the first band or artist you saw on friday on your very first visit to glastonbury...ours was The View on the pyramid stage about midday in 2007

only friday and must have made some effort to go to venue.

Some nondescript rastabilly skank on the Thursday in 97. Alien aint the word for it. Was 19 and I felt like I'd just walked onto the set of "Labyrinth".

I honestly couldn't rememebr so had a look on past line ups & it appears it was The Dandy Warhols in 02, guess it wasn't that very memorable.

I seem to recall the keyboard player wearing a short skirt & had a stoned look about her but that is all..

Not 100% if they were the first band I actually saw but the first band I remember seeing were Supergrass on the Other Stage in 1995!

I think mine was Martha Tilston and then Newton Faulkner in the Acoustic tent, 2007. I sat next to someone who said she was Newton's cousin, and who was I to doubt her.

First band I can say I definately say I saw was Dandy Warhols on Pyramid Stage 2002, however I know I had been wandering around the site prior to that and had heard other stuff but where it was and who I heard I have no idea!

Yeah, I certainly can't remember. Probably whoever came onto the Pyramid first in 1995.

I donno, i think they were called the seal club clubbing club or something, at leftfield on the thursday...first pyramid was kate gash...

Thursday in 92, lots of late night soundsystem action all over the Green Fields (especially the Underworld Experimental Field in what is now Shangri-La) and the markets. Every other stall seemingly having a massive rig attached to it. And the lazer from the old milk stall by the neeting point dancing under the mist and haze.

First band was BTTP on the Friday morning, NME Stage. And what a line up on the same stage for the rest of the day; The Moonflowers, Jah Wobble, Flowered Up, The Orb and Primal Scream. That was some introduction to the magic of Glasto.

Think it was Bush on the pyramid '99 although everythings a bit blurry from then.

2003 - The Darkness - what ever happened to them!

They split up, the members-Justin started taking themselves very seriously and started a GOD_AWFUL Glam Metal band called Stone Gods and Justin kept entertaining the world by taking the mickey out of Glam in a Queen-ish way in a band called Hot Leg (who are better than Stone Gods- i'd like to stress that part).

mine was Phish - Friday, 97 - sooo muddy - but was great

the next band I saw on that day was Beck - later on - could have gone home after that - he just blew me away

It was Bjorn Again on the Pyramid in 1999. They were rubbish.

john smith at the acoustic stage last year, he was absolutely brilliant, night after jacko popped it - i walked the pyramid after it and regina specktor was on ... made john smith seem a million times better.

incidently i finished the festival at the acoustic stage too, watching roger mcguinn, incredible.

Can't remember from when I was ickle but as an adult - '99 Blondie (I think, like many - it all gets a little hazy! )
