Following the reunion I'd say there's a decent chance of them playing. While they may be more suited to Download or Sonisphere, it seems to me that they could well be Reading's one big "let's try and satisfy the hard rock crowd" signing. And if the organisers want them, bearing in mind 2008, I'd imagine they would have the money to do it.

Oh yes I can, Im a stubborn old git and flast refuse to. ratm are the best live act I have ever witnessed but flat refused to see them whent hey reformed. Because I was mortified they made a career out of selling there beliefs on record and then did the direct opposite.

even if the smith and the stones roses reformed Iwouldnt watch them.

I'm a huge fan but there's no way they could headline. They weren't big enough when they were around, and they haven't exactly become more popular when they were away. The Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins were always bigger, and yet when they reformed and headlined Reading their crowds were pretty small compared with other headliners....I don't think Festival Republic would make that mistake again. NME headliner would suit me.

I can't see them headlining after pulling out at really short notice in the past, when they were offered a top slot.

On the subject of reformations, i have seen some fantastc ones over the last few years, though it tended to be smaller english bands getting back together for a giggle, one last hurrah and a few quid rather than anything else. Wonder Stuff, Neds, PWEI, Shed Seven, Skunk Anansie & Carter USM have all put on fantastic shows over the past few years for their old crowd and still sell out big venues. I see Rage refoming as a bit different and like 'thetime' i wasn't interested in seeing them again as there was no way to live up to their original Reading perfomance(93 was it?, top show anyway)

geesh it ratm not rage.

If you dont think that money wasnt there motive then you really are very naive.

what do you think there motives were then? no new matrial, coachella gave them something like 3 million dollars. they refused to be filmed(I thinkt hats correct), so they can make more money from other merchandise.

thats what made me laugh about the christmas number one, that joe guy from xfactor has more integrity than ratm in his littel geordie finger than the whole of ratm.

but in the end of the day people dont care about music as much as they used to, or how they get lied to by certain musicians to get a record sold. its all about leading the fan in and screwing them, even if the bullshit they spout out and laughing behind the fans back thinking WHAT FOOLS.

rant over

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
