Direct Debits need to be set up by the receiver notifying your bank. The company can change the date/amount of the payments as long as they notify you at least 14 days beforehand.

Standing Orders need to be set up by you and you decide the date/amount of the payments, the receiver of them can't change anything.

that we had a quiz go round to raise funds for a child to get an operation in the states.

some girl got 78/80. everyone that did it in our office didn't even answer 78/80, let alone get that amount right.

why would someone cheat and google for something like that?

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.

    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
