Bookies' odds for Glasto headliners

This isn't intended to be another 'headliner' thread but I was looking at the bookie's odds for Glasto Headliners:

A few things strike me as odd (if you'll pardon the pun)

Firstly they're doing it for the Sunday. I assume this is just to make more losing bets. I'd certainly be annoyed if I placed a bet and they played on the Saturday.

Secondly Blur are 25/1. That's absurd. Having headliners for a consecutive year seems incredibly unlikely.

Finally Arcade Fire are 100/1 i.e twice as unlikely as The Pogues. That seems far too generous. Shame you can't go each-way...

If i gambled I'd put a fiver on radiohead @ 14/1, with a new album out next year surely they are worth a shout.

Cant see it being the stones or bowie, prince, u2 or elton john- all of which have very low odds

hmm considering lacing a bet on muse soon whil the odds are 8 to 1, cos those odds will decrease quickly i think, so many people are talkin about muse playing

Surely this is quite open to abuse. Say David Bowie is headlining, then I'm sure that more people that just David Bowie and Michael Eavis know about it!

Must be tens if not hundreds of people who could make a killing down the bookies!

Bookies are very aware of large scale bets or many bets being made. When that happens the odds comes down. That's how they work.

Ever seen a poor bookie? Didn't think so

Would be funny to see Mr Eavis walk into the Pilton branch of William Hill and put a million quid down on the Sunday night headliner, reckon they would take his bet ?????

I think that there's a slight chance The Cure might play - when you look at bands who have won NMEs "Godlike Genius" award, in recent years a fair few of them have went on to play a UK festival or two - Manic Street Preachers, New Order etc.

Might put a couple of quid on them.
