I don't think it's fair that peeps say that other peeps don't know the Glastonbury spirit if you like/dislike certain band.

We all go the the same fest after all. It's not like Russy goes to R/L. For all you know he could be the one helping you put up your tent on the wednesday cos you can't manage it yourself! (Not a dig at Muse fans btw). All I'm saying is people have different personalitles when they aint on the internet, you don't know jack about Russy apart from what he posts and for all you know he could be a really nice guy or a complete cock. But the same could be said about anyone on here.

I for one find russy's posts entertaining and some of his insults/ put downs are just genuis!

I'm a Muse fan , but not a bellamy fanboy..... but.....

bellamy could play the piano when he was 8, and was singing falsetto from like the age of 17.

he got voted 21 best guitar player of all time

he can write MUSIC amazingly and is an awesome frontman

his live skills are insane and always hits the notes

muses timing live is impeccaple and a many of people say 'their a band when live, sounds like its straight off a cd'

they also have a pretty shit hot bassist in wolstenholme

I dont care what muse haters have to say on this thread, maybe they should get out more instead of sitting here with 2000+ posts, reminiscing about last years G and thinking about this years, as theyve got nothing in their pathetic little lives to look forward to.

ill be at the pyramid saturday night. if muse weren't that good, nor bellamy.... they wouldnt be headlining glastos biggest birthday to date

It's true, we don't know who he is offline, but whether he's a nice guy in real life or not isn't relevant to how he conducts himself on here. In my opinion he sounds a complete tosser (Prove me wrong Russy). He can insult Muse or any other band/artist until his heart is content, but it's inevitable that some people will react.

And by the way, I can erect my own tent thank you very much :P

Muse are sure to put on a show that will delight their fans. If you don't like Muse, don't go and watch them. Go watch something you do like. Everybody likes different things so its pointless trying to win the argument of whether they are sh*t or not

Who's list? No offence, but its probably voted for by people like you and irons.

Anyway, for every list that puts him in the top 100 you'll find one that doesn't care for him. Rolling Stones recent top 100 for example (written by musicians and journos) doesn't mention him.

Why do people think that's necessarily a good thing for a live act ...? I don't want to listen to someone just replicate the album, I want live performances to really add upon the cd listening, and not just with lasers and expensive stage set ups.

I think the guy's very tallented, a great allround musician and song writer. The whole band very good at their instruments, but he's very far from God's greatest gift to Rock music (which i think some of their younger listeners might think him to be)

A picture using cut out pieces of sugar paper that my boyfriend did 10 years ago when at uni... he plucked a certain Matt Bellamy out of Melody Maker when Muse were just an obscure band on the back pages and used him for an art project... look at him now ay ;-)

on the subject of betting, heres a tip for the cheltenham gold cup on friday :

kauto star will piss it, no way he is gonna get beat but the odds reflect this and are shit, 4/6 when i left work (im a bookie btw)

what you wanna do is this, bet kauto star to win and denman to be second, this is called a forcast bet, and the odds will work out at roughly 6 or 7/1

jus write it like this

kauto star to beat denman £* f/c

get on it :P

they are about to take the stage tonight at a tinyish place called Stubbs BBQ, at the South by Southwest big industry get-together in Austin, Texas. no gadgetry, just them and their equipment. can you imagine?

it will be streamed later on in the weekend...go to the Muse site for details on how to see it.

    • Best of all is to get the tram, then call a taxi for very short not-rip-off ride once in the centre.
    • Would you decide to go once more I recommend to queu up at the ‘official’ freenow taxi line ( 5 min walk from the main gate). It might take 15 min or so but they are not ripping you off. Even at 3 or 4 in the night it costed us about 25eur to the city center.
    • How do you mean? Better as a hotel/ festival combo?   I've done rock am ring at both sites.....unpopular opinion I much preferred the mending site and really didn't like the long and narrow main stage at RaR.
    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
