If you understood the spirit of the thread and the peeps who post on it, you'd realise the over the top abuse is just part of banter and is being made in good fun and with no malice at all, that i can assure you.

No I don't actually but it seems that anybody who has come on here wantaing anything but a heatwave has been shot down in flames. The people that have met me on here can vouch for the fact that I'm always up for banter and having a laugh.

People should be able to post what they wish without worrying they are going to be given grief over it.

The strange thing is, I actually don't want it to rain! At no point have I said I want rain, all I want is a bit of cloud cover (i'm sensitive to the sun!). Anybody would have thought I'd been doing a raindance in readiness!!!!

I totally agree with you that rain would ruin the festival for those people who had crutches/walking difficulties etc I struggled in 2007 with al the mud so I certainly dont want that again!

The worst thing about the rain is you can't sit down during the day and chill at the stages with a few beers and therefore your feet are killing you by the time the headliners are over. I really really love just chilling out in the day times and not rushing about, whenever the weather has been shite ive been too done in to do anything by the end of the music which really sucks ass.

Speak for yourself! :O

I've managed 35 years with no visits to a proctologist and hope it will be AT LEAST 35 more!

Viz the weather, it's been piss awful for a few days in Sheff. I've been hoping for it to continue and then dry up in, oh I don't know, about 10 days time? Something like that.

I think people can get a bit sensitive (and I don't mean you). Last year there was someone trolling on here and winding everyone up demanding rain and so the uncompromising NRNC stance has become the norm and some people have become a bit militant.

If you campaign for NRNC, but with cloud cover, you'd get a lot of support. I doubt the hard line sun worshippers went in the mid 90's when it was scorching and unpleasant to be honest.

For me the ideal would be no rain, light cloud cover which dissipates in the evening for a glorious sunset. I have to say though that the worst years were the wet ones and I'd take sun over rain any day. There are people who have medical reasons not to want sun and medical reasons not to want rain and so much as I don't want people being harmed by the sun, I don't want people trying to get round on wheelchairs and crutches in the mud.

Well said.

I remember the too hot years - in the early 90s the only shade you could find apart from the marquees was what we used to call "the shady glen" - it was a nice quiet shady green bit. Then it turned into The Glade! It's popular I know, but not really where you go for a nice quiet chill in the shade anymore! (I confess I scowl at it a little, in an old-biddy sort of way - tut-tutting to myself "just look what they've done to the shady glen!")

I really don't want r**n or mud - I really found 2007 difficult, but a bit of cloud cover at times would be nice.

My mate Glen is 7ft 2, he's got a massive quiff and can get you anything,ANYTHING you want. He's a good lad but everyone knows you need to stay on the right side of Shady Glen.

Todays weather in Eastbourne was perfect and pretty. Sunny with fluffy white clouds (so the occasional bit of shade & 20C. However I was stuck in a boiling hot hospital ward for 13 hrs and it arrived too early.

I like sun, I like the occasional fluffy white cloud (clouds are pretty!) and I like my parasol (so I don't get a migraine) and I like the occasional bit of light drizzle (preferably when I am in my tent at night, asleep so I don't see it, feel it or hear it) because to be fair the dust when it is constantly hot is pretty annoying too (and I have only experienced this once in 8 visits).

I would like if the weather did not do all these things until I get there. please thank you
