To be honest I'd probably settle for this - coldish, partly cloudy but the occasional small shower...I am a firm supported and campaigner of NRNC , but i'd easily stick with that...

I spent the sunday of 2007 in my campervan refusing to budge again - my boyfriend went on site and I didn't see him again until Monday morning and had a great time. I was so so so so so sick of being wet and muddy by sunday though and thought it would be my last glastonbury - pah. I really don't think I could do that again - 5 days of rain did not make me a happy bunny (so probably best the boyf was out the way really)

What can we expect for Glastonbury*?

The arrival of the longest day and the start of Glastonbury* suggest that we should be reaching the height of summer.

Indications show a mixture of drier and brighter interludes but still with a signal of more unsettled weather at times. Rainfall and sunshine amounts are therefore expected to be around average throughout the period.

Temperatures should be near or slightly below normal, but perhaps slightly above in parts of southern and eastern England. So not exactly a heatwave, but hopefully some good tennis weather.

Well the piss poor weather for Rage Factor never appeared. It was bloody lovely. Perfect in fact, dry, warm with just enough cloud to keep the sun off. Hungover and sore as hell today though, think I may have a broken nose....

Anyway, just goes to show that even 24 hours before, forecasters can still balls it up, never mind 2 weeks out. Pinches of salt anyone?

We could still have any one of three outcomes. A washout, a showery festival or luck out with a dry one. My money is on showers at the moment.

I blame the new government for this. Gordon would never have allowed this to happen.

OK. Its pissing it down here in central London and I'm about to cycle to work.

So here is my new deal witht the rain gods.

I'll accept getting rained on to and from work every day until the 18th June AND I'll accept this weekends house warming BBQ being rained on..... for a NRNC Glastonbury.

The Main Man's latest update;

Starting off again with last night 18Hz (Sunday)

High Pressure pushing up from the south west on the Friday before the festival, and high pressure over the UK by the Monday and Tuesday and looking well set for the opening days of the festival(at least).

Now Today GFS and the first time these actually forecast the Wednesday of the festival, admittedly only at T+384. so still well into FI.

00Hz A battleground scenario with Low Pressure to the North East giving some wet weather for the weekend before the festival, but High pressure trying to edge in again from the west /South west, settling things down by the Wednesday.

06Hz High Pressure pushing in the Friday before the festival, but starting to edge away on the Tuesday, possibly allowing Atlantic fronts to edge in, however with High Pressure not to far away to the east.

12Hz High Pressure becoming dominant mid next, but slowly turning unsettled from the South East on the Monday before the festival, for the Wednesday itself, HP again to the SW, but with the chance of some fronts from the NW. Attached Image

18Hz High Pressure trying to dominate from the south, but fronts looking to being some rain into NW parts of the UK.

Some agreement today of the weather settling down next week (with this week looking very unsettled). For the Glastonbury festival itself the Azores High tries to remain in control, but with fronts coming in over the top of it from the Atlantic, or even from the North West.

accuweather has a 15 day forecast so can just get the start of the festival where it says 'grey cloud' but on a positive side it doesn't say rain!
