Ordinarily I wouldn't believe the f**king date in the Mail. Fascist rag that it is. BUT given that it predicts a long hot summer, I'm going to sacrifice my principles and claim that it's cast iron 100% FACT.

Oooooooooohhhh! I like all this talk of soaring temperatures, even if it's just temporary! Looks like it will settle down again, bit of rain here and there and sunny spells round and about, then....

SUN SUN SUN for Glastonbury Festival! That's what I made of all those articles anyway and I defy anyone who stands in my way!

We've all gone soft!

Last years weather thread was up to page 172 by the time I left for Glasto.

I can't see us getting that high in 5 weeks... Or can we!?! :P

I'm pretty much out of a job on here unless I am constantly having to tell people, who for some reason "Like the sound of the rain on my tent!" To F**k Off!

Idiots!!!

When are the good people of Netweather going to pull their collective finger out and give us some long-range, highly-variable, jargon-filled, barely decipherable, hopelessly unrealistic, completely unreliable at this stage WEATHER PREDICTIONS!

I don't think the Mail article is all that positive:

Forecaster Jonathan Powell said: ‘The pattern through June is unlikely to be all that stable, so expect some rain as we pass through mid-month, although again, there will be some pleasant sunshine from time to time, keeping temperatures on the warm to possibly very warm side.

‘July too starts on an unsettled note, with some rain around, but summer will emerge, and we can expect some decent drier spells and some warm to very warm temperatures.’

we're not coming this year except on Sunday...

i can therefore say with overwhelming confidence that it will be dry and sunny for the entire fesitval except on Sunday when rain of biblical proportions will engulf the site....

not that i'm pessimistic or anything... :P

At least this means we can go back to hating on The Mail again! It must be a lie designed to upset those damn hippies at Glastonbury.

According to the forecast I saw this morning, this warm weather will last until early next week. Then it would be nice if we got another bath of cold, wet weather out of the way, then the sun can return from the third weekend in June onwards.

Our lass bought some new wellies the other day actually, so she's doing her bit towards making it hot, sunny and dry! I encourage everyone else to do the same.

guys guys guys, there's NO way to tell what the weather will be doing in the last week of June.

At best the forecast is *sort* of accurate 4 days out, and a small wind direction change can cause a massive change in the weather.

I know it's fun to speculate but ultimately you're wasting your time :P:P

Check the forecast at the Met Office from about June 19th and you'll a better idea of the trend...

I'm going to buy myself a new silly hat for this year. I also bought new wellies over the winter. I have recently moved house and will be hunting for my waterproof trousers and cagoul soon too.

I will be prepared for rain and sun.

But it will be sunny!

I might leave a pine cone out on the windowsill to predict the weather.

I stumbled upon this thread here (sorry can't embed links as using my phone): http://www.I'M A DESPERATE SPAMMER.com/myfests/in...showtopic=58585, where we discuss the weather on June 18th 2005, apparently 'light rain and showers' were expected, which shows how wrong you can be... I don't ever remember anything approaching the weather catastrophe of that year being predicted.

Of course that won't stop me obsessing over every forecast from now to the end of June.

    • Lost my love of football years ago so I pay very little attention to it these days but I'm really enjoying Max Rushden's video diaries of his flat share with Barry Glenddening. I think Barry might kill him before the end of the tournament
