Really regret not seeing blur

Prodigy play Ireland nearly every year, I hadnt seen Blur since 1996. Im a massive fan of the Prodigy having seen them more than 10 times since 1994. Had I missed out on Blur on the Pyramid I would be fairly inconsolable though. I have to be honest with you. This was gig-of-the-decade stuff mate.

Besides I'm far too old now for Howlett and Co's "Can't f ucking hear ya!?" / Their Law / Voodoo People schtick. All their "new" fans aswell? Prodigy are gone for me now. Have been since "Temper" to be honest.

I wasnt there either but where Macca and Bowie were heartwarming and life-affirming, Radiohead were astonishing.

Someone else mentioned this earlier in the thread...but I too was suprised with the amount of people just singing along to the new Prodigy album...I mean if you are into them, then surely its not just off the new album?! Theres three albums of stomping classics/anthems to sing along to...(the 4th album is awful imo)

We were 10 yards from the barrier by the left screen as u looked at the stage and it was mostly kids singing along to Omen and The World is on fire...even when Breathe and Firestarter were played it only had a few people going mad for it.

I'd seen both before, Prodigy at Reading 2002 and then again at Brixton in 2004 and 05. I'd also seen Blur twice at Reading 1999 and 2003.

Quite happy about my choice as I was down the front and could hear it clearly, but the set was rather short, and i'm a bit gutted I missed a classic Blur set (Saw the Verve last year and that was great)

Unfortunatly thats the problem with Glastonbury, as its so big they can afford to have two monster headliners on at the same time, something that other festivals can't always do.

I had seen the Prodify before and it was one of the best live gigs I've ever seen - incredible. I liked Blur but had never been a massive fan - alot of the tunes mentioned in the "I would've been bored" post above I would've agreed with before being there.

I chose Blur purely on the besis that I hadn't seen them before, & couldn't guarantee another chance. It was so different from anything I could've imagined. I wasn't bored for a moment, even with songs I didn't know (and there were some), because the atmosphere was spine tingling.

I can't remember ever coming away from a non-dance gig so exhilarated - but it was in a very different way to what I would've felt coming away from The Prodigy - kind of a longer slower buzz. The kind of buzz I get from a brilliant dance act is shorter and sharper, wheras the buzz from The Blur set was warmer and kind of lasted weeks - it's still there, a really tangible memory. I'm sure there is some kind of sex or drugs analogy that I can't quite place but yes - definitely very very happy that I chose Blur.

It took exactly 3 weeks for me to see a better headline act than blur, and that happened at Latitude.

That sunday saw a truly phenomenal performance, and not a crocodile tear in sight!

i didnt see blur at glasto but can catagorically state that cave @ latitude (cos thats what your talking about) was not better than blur @ hyde park so find it highly unlikely that he was better than them at the big G!!

I can't believe I saw prodigy over Blur, the only decision I really really regret. (apart from seeing The Rakes, how shit were they!)

It looked absolutely amazing on the highlights and tbh the atmosphere over at The Prodigy was full of drunks and a bit edgy.

The prodigy seem to be at nearly every big festival this year and tour regularly, Blur reformed for a few gigs and were obviously gonna put evrything into it. It would've been a no brainer for me really.

Some times, when you buy a bag of grapes, there are a few sour ones. Luckily all the ones I had that weekend were sweet. Especially the one with Blur written on it.
